Cutting out a chunk of the free version (and an accessibility feature at that) and selling it as DLC is beyond scummy. Visual impairments, light sensitivity, and eyestrain in dark environments are several reasons that dark mode is an accessibility feature.

Photophobia as a somewhat common documented issue, some people have issues reading black text on a white background and viceversa due to a number of reasons. there's several visual deficiencies out there, some people live with tumors and/or frequent headaches that can severely affect their vision or sensitivity to colors.

You could at least try reading up on this first.
