Game was great, kept up with decent support.
Devs decided one day to update it to murder LITERALLY every aspect of it.
I could only play this game on my steam deck, because it had that little optimization with the later iteration of heists.
They announced Payday 3 and its special limited edition bundles a little too coincidentally in time with the update that literally could only piss people off and anyone with an IQ above 10 could have seen this coming.

I used to play this with the homies RELIGIOUSLY. I made all the dumb builds I could, I tried everything. I didn't even care that much when the devs for some weird reason started obsessing over balance in a 4 man co op vs AI game. Nerfing grenade launchers into the ground to make them far more restrictive to use, basically removing dragon breath rounds from the game with how hard they got nerfed.

If people want to give Overkill the benefit of the doubt, remember, they tried to have lootcrates in this game at one point. Thankfully those failed so miserably that the only remnants of them ever even existing is just the models on some heists.

I have tried to get this to work on proton, and it does. As a steam deck user I can say that it CAN work like this... But the fact I have to put in all the effort to make the game I paid for and loyally bought 90% of the DLCs that come out, all because of a game store that doesn't even technically exist as anything beyond a marketing blackhole, is very depressing.

It should be marked as no longer verified on the store page, because it's just an outright lie now.

She makes me want to kill myself when someone is deploying multiple medkits in a row.

Throws all the tricks it has up its sleeves out in under a few minutes time, gets boring fast, the poor english translation doesn't do it any favor either. It's an interesting premise but the area is so small that it is impossible to really trick you effectively unless you've been awake for 2 days straight.

Valkyria Chronicles is a good game by all means, really, it is fine. It's grand.

The plot is odd, the fantasy war setting is pretty unique as things go, even if everything revolves around a magical mcguffin type of ore.

The reason I can't recommend this game to non strategy veterans, is that it gets VERY exhausting to play for long periods, and the endgame even moreso. The game took me just shy of 40 hours to complete, and I had 0 desire to continue after that. The game implores replaying battles to grind more experience to upgrade your weaponry, tanks, and armor. I barely did that, and I got by just fine. I'd say wait for a sale on this one really.

This game had a lot going for it, and was pretty great for its simplicity in the days when it was early access.
Sadly I can no longer recommend it, simply due to the fact the devs have now had a full blown breakdown and are currently throwing a temper tantrum due to the fact steam would not remove negative reviews. As result they have preemptively announced that they no longer will be updating Domina on steam, which means you're buying a dead game at this point.
To top that off, they have been using patch notes to shove their political views and stuff in... I don't know about you, but I don't play a game about gladiator management for politics.

It's hard to get into, and it can be done without paying, but get friends to play with. You get better a lot faster than you expect, and the game is rather simple.

The devs behind it are gaijin levels hungry for money so I'd advise against buying the DLC and stuff, but that's just my personal opinion.

Don't play for 12 hours straight though, this game is simple and won't hold you hostage if you lose everything in a match, you can just hop out and go to the next match and still get the reward for the match you WERE in. Which is nice.

And here is something that anyone new considering getting into this game should know, let others go before you, be observant, and either start as Russia or Germany. They're the most player friendly nations from my experience.

I play this on my switch more than on steam now but that being said, it is a relatively simple and fun game.

I'd be remiss if I didn't add that some of the exploring the wasteland levels are a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥ though, you're gonna be spamming stims on that, and I one time had 3 varying raids back to back not that far apart.

It is literally the living embodiment of toilet gaming.

Persona 4 golden is a great game, with great characters, some great moments, golden music, a mostly great story, and alright gameplay.

You're gonna get exhausted though inevitably. There's certain parts where things hit a lull and you find yourself unconsciously skipping dialogue (that you can re-listen to if you wish.) You find yourself wondering when it'll end, and usually around then you'll probably find yourself more enjoying the social dating sim aspect of the game more than the rpg fighting side of the coin.

I lasted 65 hours before I started to notice that fatigue setting in, and I will not deny I own 3 copies of persona 4 now with this. I have the original for the PS2 on my shelf, I have Persona 4 Golden on my PSVITA as well as steam. And I gotta say I had a lot better of an experience with the steam variant the most.

My playthroughs of all the various releases of Persona 4 have had large enough gaps between them that I only know bits and pieces when I come back, and it's pretty great to re-experience everything each time plus the new stuff that got added in was even nicer.

I should note that the persona and shin megami tensei series as a whole, is the only JRPG genre I've really got much experience in that has made buffing/debuffing worth doing. In most games buffs/debuffs do so little that it makes no difference, In the Persona/SMT games they are VITAL to winning as a whole. And I appreciate that a lot.

I know this review sounds mostly negative, and that's because I felt I needed to emphasize this side of the game since not many really get down to the nitty gritty as much. This is a great game though, it IS worth your money, it EASILY makes up for the cost with how much there is to do. Just, don't be a completionist with it. You will become deranged if you do, even on new game+.

It's a good game by all means, but at this point there is so much of it out there content wise that there is legitimately 0 purpose behind buying it beyond supporting the devs, which I normally applaud but considering they've been working on the sequel for a good while now I don't know if it is anymore...

An amazing game, it technically counts as a retro game now that it's over a decade old.
