This is a brilliant game! The story revolves around an institution that takes care of supernatural anomalies, very much like the SCP Foundation if you will. The story as a whole is great, very engaging, and with multiple side plots. If you focus only on what's presented to you directly through cinematics and discussions, you'll still have a great understanding of it and will enjoy it very much. However, there are also lots and lots of collectibles, to listen to, watch, and especially read through, and all of these expand the story and the universe a lot more and give context to many of the things you'll find.
It is a part of the Alan Wake universe and it really feels like it. There are quite a few references to the events that take place in the game and even some little stories that expand on Alan Wake's story. Any fan of Wake's games will be really pleased with finding these bits.

Graphicly, it is what you'd expect from a fairly recent game. It looks great and the lightning is very well made in my opinion, although some opinions may differ here. There is one issue with texture loading for close objects sometimes, they load a little bit slow, and for a brief moment, they are low rez. It really isn't a big issue, however, some people may be taken out by this, and if that's the case, the issue can be solved pretty easily with a dev. approved mod. Make sure to check on the game's guides for this and also a way to easily get the content that was console exclusive. It's just a really simple change to the hex code.

Gameplay-wise, this game is magnificent. Has some really nice mechanics that feel amazing to use, levitation is fun and very well made, and all the other powers the protagonist unlocks are easy to use and actually very useful compared to some other games where you'll use one thing once and then never again.
The weapons feel good and impactful, although I couldn't give much expertise on this since I was too big of a fan of the basic pistol and I almost entirely used that, it's just a matter of preference really.
The navigation through the levels may seem really confusing at first, and sometimes it really is, but as soon as you figure it out, it becomes way easier. The main thing to keep in mind is to make use of signs. You'll see signs that point toward specific places scattered everywhere, and these make it way easier for you to figure out what's where and how to get to it.

And for any completionists out there, the game is fairly easy to 100%, it just depends on how much you enjoy doing it. Most achievements are pretty straightforward, and for the few that are more ambiguous, the guides are decent at explaining them. The achievements for The Foundation DLC are a bit more tedious, but nothing too bad. There are no difficulty achievements since there are no multiple difficulty options.
