Good game, needs more time and more content though.

Summary:
Great game for Touhou fans that are also fans of metroidvanias, though don't expect this game to be a second Hollow Knight. If you aren't interested in Touhou, or you don't even know what Touhou is, it still could be a good game for you. Yes, most of the story and characters will literally fly over your head, yes, you can complete it in mere one and a half hour and yes, after you get a certain spellcard (skill) game becomes too easy. If you are able to turn a blind eye on this issues, go ahead and enjoy it. I recommend this game but be wary, you might read other reviews first.

Gameplay:
Time-stop mechanic is great at first, but then, you know, it gets kinda stale. There are puzzles in this game, though saying they are complex is a big overstatement. Bosses are great, each introducing more and more mechanics, tho, there are not many of them (bosses and mechanics).

Music:
Ah yes, the best part. Like in every Touhou game the best part is the music, you can expect remixes of EoSD track (and one from MoF) that are great to listen to during the game. There's nothing more to be said, it is just great.

Graphics:
Another strong aspect. For me the pixel art was gorgeoous (if you don't look at Sakuya's legs, of course, I'm getting MoistCritical vibes here...). Animations are smooth and character designs better than ZUN's (which isn't a great feat). Developers leave us many little easter eggs, like the change of clothing of one of the bosses during a certain attack. It will probably go unnoticed for many people, even Touhou fans as many of them, and here are some spoilers, didn't play the first entry in the series, well it has only one character so it is a spoiler .

Story:
Almost non-existent. This really bothers me. It's incredibly short (less than 1,5h) and just meh. The ending is a little bit moving, but only if you were invested in characters before playing this game. All game revolves around EoSD cast and Scarlet Devil Mansion (with addition of Nitori and Akyuu, and without Rumia). The story is so flexible it could be written in a way that could include Hakugyokurou ("Yuyuko's place"), Eientei and Moriya Shrine as separate locations together with characters from Perfect Cherry Blossom, Imperishable Night, Mountain of Faith and Phantasmagoria of Flower View for a good measure (Eiki and Komachi). It would be a great addition to the story and would make it much more interesting.

Warning:
If you are not a Touhou fan, you won't understand most of this game, it introduces the characters poorly, and in some cases, doesn't introduce them at all. It basically relies on your knowledge of Touhou lore (and I'm speaking written works level lore) to fully understand what's happening around you. For example Akyuu, who we meet at the start of the game will probably
be just another throwaway character for you. But anyone who knows who Hieda no Akyuu is will appreciate this little touch.

Price:
The price is fair for what you are getting, maybe a little too much but the next lower price step is like 5$, which would be a total steal. If the game was a little longer it would fully deserve the price. Remember that I'm comparing it to games like Hollow Knight, which is like 2 times longer for the same price.

If you are a Touhou fan, you might also want to check Koumajou Densetsu series (a Touhouvania). It is a Castlevania type game and is very similar to Luna Nights, though it is a different genre. I haven't played it myself, but watched it on youtube. I would also like to give a shout out to Asprey. He is a twitch streamer, more than half of his videos are Touohu related so if you are interested you can watch him on Twich, AspreyFM, and on youtube, Asprey Archive. He is a great content creator and I would watch his stream everyday if he didn't start his streams at 11 PM in my time zone :/ He is from Canada btw.

Great game, taught me how to perform surgeries :D I have my first heart transplant scheduled in an Asian country. Their benevolent leader needs some help and I'm gonna help him :) Wish me luck guys, he will literally kill me if I botch it :O
