I wanted to enjoy this as I have been waiting for the launch for quite a while, but it just wasn't fun.

The controls are annoying and feel like they're fighting you.
The aspect ratio of the camera/game window is weird and not even 4:3, drastically restricting your FOV on top of the very poor lighting in game.
The objective is clear but no indication of where to go to find the raccoons to photograph. The radar used for this purpose pings randomly sometimes with no raccoon in sight.
I hit several bugs including 2 huge ones where the boat FLEW out of the water into the surrounding forest, forcing me to restart with no progress saved/checkpoints.

Overall the game has promise but needs a lot fixed. It feels like Don't Scream or Silent Breath where it's just a bunch of creepy assets thrown together with a poor gameplay execution. I've played a lot of indie horror for my channel, some more and some less expensive, and I simply can't recommend it.

Let me start by saying: I NEVER play RPGs.

I was skeptical to buy this but since I did, I haven't stopped playing!
Super cute game, super silly at times, and very well-made for such an indie game. The level of QOL features is remarkable, and I cannot wait to play more!

This very well may be my personal indie GOTY for 2024.

Gameplay was challenging without being frustrating, and overall the passion for this project shined through!

One of the most interesting and unique concepts in a singleplayer game that I have seen in a LONG time.
Very simple design, with an eerie atmosphere that makes you question everything. Why are you here? Why are you doing this?
Another banger from Critical Reflex, and huge props to Julien Eveille for the originality behind this one!

Really solid game with a unique and interesting story.
Actually scary, and kept a solid pace throughout. Definitely worth picking up.

Only downside is the use of AI voices. Hopefully in future releases the devs use actual VAs.

Just another example of indie games being king and triumphing over AAA garbage. You can see the passion and personality put into the game from start to finish. Big props to Paperhead te4m!

Gameplay loop has excellent flow and replayability.
In it's current state, I will say the builds are quite limited in EA, but I hope Motion Twin adds more slots for perks and upgrades down the road.
Enemies are punishing and combat rewards well-timed dodges to not get demolished in just a few hits - which is what i expect from the dev of Dead Cells.
Overall an excellent game and I cannot wait to play more!

Also, I NEED NEED NEED an animated series of this game. The opening cinematic/launch trailer is animated beautifully and I need to see more!

Good game. Not great, but good.

Odd choice from the devs to have the most confusing and hardest puzzle in the game be the FIRST puzzle you NEED to solve to even start watching the Amanda tapes.
Overall not bad. Enjoyed the first game much more though.
