I don't often leave reviews, but just wanted to share my small slice of the (very) popular opinion that this game is incredible!

So well polished, brilliantly unique and provides such diversity in gameplay and perspective!

Highly recommend buying if you're considering playing with someone else! (You only need 1 game per 2 players!)

Absolutely pick this game up if it's at a discount.

~40+ hours of Story missions alone! (Countless more completionist hours), and everything from the character development to the sound design is impeccable.

What a masterpiece!

Played through (and completed!) a 2 hour prologue to find out that I can’t join my friend’s session, nor can they join me.

I can’t even progress in my single player save as I’m soft locked in the bazaar.

What a waste of time and money thus far.

Loved the atmosphere, story was a little empty-feeling but still a gorgeous game with a great underlying "Fallout" vibe/concept.

Another compelling experience that is bringing back the joy I used to experience playing story-telling games like this. Truly a terrifying experience. Couldn't recommend enough.

One of the most beautiful games I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Cannot fault it one bit. If you truly invest into the game and the characters offered to you, it's a very difficult task trying not to cry at times too. Truly a masterpiece. Worth every penny. <3

Insym and I are trying to get the Spirit Box to speak/a hunt to begin.
We both ask what the ghost's name is. We are told her name is Elisabeth Jackson.
Insym says "Elisabeth Jackson, your mum's a hoe!"

Hunt begins.
I am promptly murdered as I'm running away.

10/10 Would die for Insym's insults again.

Make no mistake: This Visual Novel is worth every penny, even if you've already watched the anime.

The number of life lessons, key memorable moments and general emotional connections I have gained and treasured from this VN are incredible. As a grown man, I'm not afraid to say how much I've teared up and cried at a lot of the character paths in Clannad, and it only gets better as you continue playing, learning to understand the concept of how choices you make in your lives could lead to much bigger and better things in the future. Although the anime did an impeccable job of keeping as much content in the series as possible, the Clannad Visual Novel cannot be topped for having such a lengthy emotional rollercoaster of alternative endings.

I'm still not fully finished with all of the potential outcomes of this VN, and having currently racked up over 60 hours (currently) to this game, I can't stress enough how well worth this purchase was, even at the seemingly steep £30 price tag.

In particular I was surprised with Kotomi's Arc in this Visual Novel, which was much more detailed than shown in the anime. It is probably my favourite Arc of all, and helped me be thankful for and treasure the closest people in my life, as well as changing my perspective on how I should live. If you are even slightly interested in the concept of this franchise, I wholeheartedly and undisputably recommend this masterpiece of a story.

A key aspect of the game that set me off many a time were the soundtracks featured. These consist of some of the most beautifully crafted musical scores I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, and every time I hear them brings back events, Arcs and character quotes which made for the Visual Novel to be as memorable as it was. I applaud whoever created the "Shining In The Sky" and "To The Same Heights" Soundtracks; they are my personal favourites.

If I had to give any advice for playing the Clannad VN, I would strongly suggest that you take your time playing through it. Don't think of it as something you can speedrun through and still enjoy; treasure every moment of the Visual Novel, funny, awkward or emotional, and the events that unfold will really have a lasting impact on you, hopefully for the better.

Truly the best story I've ever read.

EDIT: After truly having completed all there is to this game, I feel the need to add a finishing note to my review.

Finishing the After Story, after so much pain and sadness, was such a rewarding and complete feeling. It made me finally understand what it means to love and treasure those close to you, and make the most of the short time you have on this world.

For anyone doubting continuing with the After Story as a result of it being too heartaching (I've been there) be rest assured that it's all in perfect timing to come back around and complete the missing pieces of the puzzle, allowing you to rest easy and feel blessed that you had the chance to experience something as unique as this.

Nothing comes close to what CLANNAD has done for me.
