I would recommend it when it is on sale, and only for people who can look beyond lazy developers.
Despite this, I cannot justify recommending it for everyone, as the game is very rough around the edges.

The game is enjoyable enough, but it is full of small bugs and graphical glitches.
Additionally, the UI lacks QoL features.

The game is way better than it should be.
This should just be yet another Early Access procedural generation sandbox survival.
It is. But also not.

It looks and feel clumsy at first, but then it turns out that this is only because you and your character have to *git gud*.
The artstyle looks somewhat pixelated, but the graphics aren't actually half bad.

Along the way the game slowly surprises you with how much attention to detail and subtle realism it contains.
So stop reading and go discover this game :)

Take 'Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun' and dip it in Western sauce.

This is a surprisingly good turn-based tactics game.
It has a single player mode but is actually focused towards the multiplayer aspect a bit more - although it is largely optional.
I don't think this game has had a lot of publicity, it looks good and plays well and is fun. The amount of (concurrent) players is very low, however. Haven't played the multiplayer yet, so it can be done without.

Finished the prologue. Did ignore main story for quite a while, strolling through the city, looking at stuff and doing some side quests.

R7 3700X - RTX2070S - 50 to 70 FPS - RTX on - High settings - 1080p

Some wonky physics with cups and bins, but nothing special. Did teleport 30m above street level once. No gamebreaking bugs or crashes. Although higher FPS would be nice, the game really is demanding enough to defend having 'just 60 fps'.

Recently played through this again, for the first time on Steam.
I still can't believe how well this plays, given that it's an expansion released in June 2001 - based on a game from 1998!

Although Blue Shift came out last I'd still recommend to play the original first, then Blue Shift and keep Opposing Force for last.

Should you not yet own this then just get the orange box during the next sale. It contains more than just these three games and is often ridiculously cheap.

Similar to games like Slay The Spire, but also very different.
Just enough difference to feel new, but also has some similarities which make it feel familiar.

Monster Train has a better sense of progression and more versatility thanks to combinations of different decks.

I was somewhat hesitant because of the setting, but apparently there is a way to turn a train driving through hell into a perfect backstory for a deck builder and Shiny Shoe used it to successfully improve on Mega Crit Games' roguelite deckbuilding hit.
