rather than "can you survive?" if most of the demos has this kind of small mistakes in translation, even if the game runs and looks well, it wont be very attractive.

"Desperate Place" Steam Next Fest Recap & Full Release Development Update

The recently concluded Steam Next Fest allowed Desperate Place to reach players from all over the world. We received a wealth of valuable feedback and suggestions, and we sincerely appreciate the support and enthusiasm from everyone!

As we continue developing future content, we've introduced a new build drone to assist the crew during the daytime strategy phase. This addition will provide a more intuitive and efficient way to view available construction options, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

With the Next Fest coming to an end and the full release approaching, we will pause Demo updates to fully focus on polishing and refining the final version. Thank you for your understanding and support—we are committed to delivering the best possible experience for all players!

Hello everyone!

The demo version of Desperate Place has been available for some time now. During this period, we have received many thoughtful suggestions and feedback, including reports of issues and some fantastic creative ideas.

We are about to release an update to quickly address some of these issues, including:

Leaderboard optimization
Improved guidance for running
Improved guidance for camera movement
Optimized attack detection for the Arsonist
Optimized attack detection for the Hunter, Defender, and Hacker
Weapon balance adjustments for the Bomber
Health adjustments for buildings (walls, machine gun towers, missile towers)
Flame tower damage range adjustment
Monster stat adjustments
Adjusted attack speed, damage, and armor type for Sieger
Slightly enhanced Boss difficulty
Fixed a bug where Sieger incorrectly targeted the Energy Storage Unit
Reduced waiting time before nightfall
Optimized some text descriptions
Improved buff effect display for the T700 Command Robot

Additionally, we would like to extend a special thanks to Azure from our Discord channel for providing an extensive 2000-word suggestion on the game's development.

Demo Feedback

Character needs a sprint or dash to move around the battlefield faster. Need to be able to control where I'm aiming. Need to be able to prioritize drone/turret targets. For example the artillery aliens are easily the biggest threat, and their tendency to sit outside the range of most turrets and wipe you out from three sides at once really kills any desire to play....

Feedback on Steam Next Fest Demo

Dunno if its for me. Feels like Thronefall, in space. Unfortunately, I liked Thronefalls Next Fest demo, but hated its final release. Here I'm liking the Next Fest demo, but... I wondering it it will go the same route as Thronefall... only catering to the hardcore playerbase. My big takeaway from playing it is: 1) We aren't given enough warning in terms of what enemies are coming from where. 2) My character I control feels weak and nearly useless. 3) Controls felt stiff, which I sure is understa...
