been playing on Steam Deck and it works like a charm. Super smooth, no hiccups. so far I’ve completed two planets and yeah… I’m weirdly attached to my tiny space clones now.

highly recommend if you're into turn-based, chill but strategic games with just the right amount of sci-fi chaos.

This is a great tactical card game I've been following during its development. Finally its out. Big congrats to the team and keep bringing new content.

I played the demo a lot while ago and it felt easy at that time. Now I played my first mission and failed. It feels like the balancing is done correctly.

I strongly recommend it to any card game fans out there.

Fun little deckbuilder that I had my eyes on for a while. I played the demo back at nextfest and was impressed with the mechanics.
In Clonizer you work for CLONPO, a company that specializes in cloning technology. Cloning has become a widespread concept across the galaxy and CLONPO is always looking for planets that contain "Dupe", the substance needed to create clones. Unfortunately mass cloning also created a large amount of defective clones, so called "Faultees". This have become a constant threat because they don't understand that their behaviour is harmful to clonees.

Your job is to locate and take over the planet thast contains Dupe. On the way there you have to take on various missions that provide you with resources and cards to improve your deck. Each planet you come across has their own aliens and special mechanics and there are several missions like mining ore, defeating aliens or collecting Dupe. What I like about this system is that it's not simply "just kill all the enemies" like usual, you have a variety of objectives that differ from mission to mission.
The gameplay uses a tile-based tactics system combined with deckbuilder mechanics. Your spaceship lands at the beginning on the planet and you can only see in a small radious around it. You also start with a random clonee from your deck. Each clonee has their own movement points and HP, you can control your clonees and move them around to explore more tiles on the planet and find objectives. You can play cards to spawn more clonees on your spaceship, deal damage to enemies or place shields on your spaceships. Unlike other tactics game, your units here are extremely expandable, they are clones afterall. You throw them constantly at enemies until they die, there is an unlimited number of replacements.
Every two turns the faultees will also launch an attack directly at your spaceship. You have to use shields to defend against it but every time the attacks get stronger. This puts sort of a time limit on your missions. Technically you have no time limit but the attacks will get too overwhelming if you take too long.
On the last planet you will also have to fight a faultee boss. Halfway through the game it will be revealed what kind of boss you have to face and each boss has their own mechanics.

The game has two different departments that have their own starting decks and mechanics. The R&D department specializes in mutations and crazy gadgets. They prefer to specialize their clones for various tasks by mutating them and giving them special tools. They also cycle quickly through their deck and fire low damage attacks to overwhelm enemies.

The logistics department leans more into the "our employees are infinite" mechanic of the game. Logistics gives clonees packages that they can throw at enemies. These packagaes contain even more clonees, creating an endless army of expandable drones. They also can move their spaceship around and use various abilities in range of the ship.

The game is incredibly fun but I think there could be more content. I wish there was a third department, two departments, even if they both have their own unique cards, feel a little short in terms of content. I like that there are huge synergies in each department but the main problem is that you will usually use a mix of strategies for each run. The amount of planets and mission types is also a bit low. While it's cool that you have multiple missions to try out, each planet only contains one type of alien. There are sometimes faultees to give you an extra challenge but faultees are just a mirrored version of your own clones.
The devs stated there will be more content over time, so I guess that will fix the problem. But people shouldn't go in here and expect the same amount of content as other deckbuilders.
