This week has been hectic, incredible, and overwhelmingly positive (p.s. We would greatly appreciate a Steam Review if you have time 🥺) since we launched RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It feels a little surreal to be able to say it at this stage. From all of us on the team – thank you all so much. We are truly floored by everyone’s response to this game.

The team are working incredibly hard to get fixes out to resolve issues that you’re encountering – we’re doing our best, and we’re excited to keep rolling out hotfixes and then scaling into larger patches, too!
OK, we can focus on the next headline: It’s Easter! That’s not going to mean much for Ashenfall and RuneScape: Dragonwilds but it does mean that JAGEX IS CLOSED!

We’ve been fully accelerating towards this release (but not crunching because… like… no.) but now we need the team to touch grass IRL rather than in game so we can get some rest and get back at it next week!

So, we’re on the case. I’ll be preparing our next steps in terms of what we’re presenting to the team based on YOUR FEEDBACK. 🫵 We want to refine what we’re hearing from our social spaces and present them to you so we’re showing our working and methods behind the feedback we deliver to the team. We’re still working on bug fixes and stability for all the platforms, so expect hotfixes as we go.
We have a known issues list that we’ve listed on our Website[dragonwilds.runescape.com] and our Discord[discord.gg]. Our Bug reporting channels in Discord are being monitored as well, so make sure you use them!

Once again, I want to really say thank you all so much to the entire community for your response to this. We’re confident that we can continue to improve this game and develop it into something truly special that deserves to be part of the RuneScape universe. If you make any bug reports, or suggestions, we will be collecting those up when we’re back on Tuesday.

Hello 'Scapers, we've got a patch coming in for RuneScape: Dragonwilds! Exciting times. This update, 0.7.1.3 includes:

• Increased Hydration from boiled water & infusions.
  
• A few crash fixes for random things. No, we aren't being more specific than that.
  
• We're aware of an issue affecting Intel CPUs (often referred to as the Oodle crash[www.radgametools.com]) and will warn you if we think you've encountered it.
  
• Updated Graphics setting options in the Settings menu:
  
  • We have removed Anti-aliasing options and now default to TSAA, which seems to work best for our game.
    
  • We've added the ability to run with Direct X11 for people who have encountered CPU-based issues... More on this later!
    
  • We have removed some upsampling options (Simple, TAAU) that weren't working as we wanted them to.
    
  • We've defaulted to TSR as an upsampling option over NIS for earlier graphic cards.

So, for those of you encountering crashes, we have experimented with a workaround. The game, by default, launches in Direct X12. We have unlocked the ability to opt-in to launching in DX11 instead. I want to highlight that this change has not been thoroughly tested yet so MAY CAUSE OTHER ISSUES.
To access this, go to Steam -> Properties -> General -> Launch Options. Under Launch Options, enter -dx11 to choose DirectX11. If you wish to switch back to DirectX12, close the game, change the launch option to -dx12, and restart.

We're also investigating Depth of Field settings and a heap of other crash fixes, with the aim to test these and validate to apply to the game tomorrow, if we can.
