Better Night Lights White

Description
About
It always bugged me that despite the FTL technologies, Ring worlds and giant death fleets equiped with high technology, the cities on the planets appear to still use yellow incandescent bulbs, and remain in a messy jumble. This simple mod changes the vanilla night light texture to give your inhabited worlds a more high technology appearance.

Changes
  • Changes vanilla night lights texture

Notes
  • The night light texture is mostly hard coded, so I can't really vary the colour, or change the light colour based on technological progression as I originally intended.
  • A similar mod exists here.

if you have the time, could you possibly do a version of this in cyan?

i know its probably impossible to do this, but it would be awesome to have the lights be the same color as the primary flag color (or secondary if the primary is black for some reason)

Alright, fair enough. Thanks for hearing me out, and good to see you modding again. =)

It is achievement compatible. The only mods that are not achievement compatible are the ones that modify or add additional scripts to the load order.

This mod overwrittes night_loghts.dds, does that mean it is not achivment combaible?

The texture doesn't really have the resolution to make the effort required to edit the image like that worth it.

I get that, I was wondering if you could tweak the picture that you use to include Earth, so that when it's applied to Earth, we get earth, but if applied to another planet, it's much harder to tell that Earth is in there.

That's not possible with how it works. There is one .png file with the light texture, which is applied to all planets.
