i think thats because in the beta the rear comartment was bigger, the beta scout car was a bit more fashioned together, i think the engine part was made a bit smaller to strap the ammo crate to the back, and i guess they just didn't want to go back and rename everything. (but this is just speculation by me)

Now that I heat this, It makes me think that the scout car should sound a lot like a motorcycle, cause theres only the frame.

I personally thought that the jalopy already sounded fine, I don't think I should touch it.

Regardless of the game engine's flaws, I think this makes the vehicles immensely more satisfying to drive. I have to ask - are there any plans to include the Jalopy from HL2:E2? Was really hoping to hear it, but am still overall very pleased with this.

That's the thing that sucks about Source's vehicles, they have predefined loops and sound triggers that get predictable compared to many other games out there.
@Minibinaz scout car is just a fancy name for the buggy, Alyx refers it to that name at the end of "We Don't Go to Ravenholm" when talking to Marco and talking about giving Gordon the scout car to get to Nova Prospekt.

Even if you made the most realistic sounds in this game it still would suck because this engine is old and doesn't use the proper sound engine for vehicles. I can tap W and the sound of the car just loops.
