So im new to mutators and so far have had zero luck getting anything to work. One I have subscribed here, how do i get this thing to work in a solo game? Sorry for being a scrub but it seems like there are not any in depth guides online anywhere...

@KaRtoON, killing floor waves are limited to 800 zeds. So 9999 fakes are useless.

I think I've encountered a bug: the mutator doubles specimen damage in all cases. Any idea where to look for the offending code?

Does zed damage scale with the number of players too? So would the zeds do more damage to you if you had a full server than if you were solo'ing the game? Is there a way to configure if so?

I mean when I run 6 or more faked players, it doesn't count achievements and leveling progress... Up to 5 faked players it still counts but it would be nice to count even with more :/

I'm using the "FakedPlus.Custom" one if it helps and here's the setup for that one:

nConfigFakes=5
nReservedSlots=6
bNoDrama=False
bAdminOnly=True
bSoloMode=False
minNumPlayers=6

All other settings, for the Fakesd +2, +3 etc, are still the same.

Ok looks like it's come back again.....perk progression is disabled when I have this mutator running......seems to be a on and off thing for this(ie sometimes allows perk progression, sometimes doesn't...)......so I disabled it and perk progression continued, as soon as I put it back on, perk progression is disabled....even tried having this on a fresh vanilla server (so zero mods on it, 100% fresh and stock) and as soon as I turn the mut on, perk progression is disabled. Turn it off, and perk progression continues......

Well you can't say it's my other mods or setup on there as I tried it on a 100% stock server install and it apparently even occurs on that too....:ftired:

Perhaps you can try to replicate this on your end so it doesn't look like I'm the only one with this? :steammocking: Or maybe someone else here try so I don't look like the only one with this issue.....hahaha

Ohhh.....sorry then, I thought that's what you meant......is that why some recently made mods and muts still allow perk and achievement progression yet others don't because it's not longer *hardcoded* into the game? Interesting....

Apparently the older versions of his weaponworkshopmut don't work with recent version of kf because it's broken which is why he updated it....well at least that's what he said...

Oh? Can you link me to V2 of KFNadeWarn then? The one I have here [forums.tripwireinteractive.com] is only the original I think or author forgot to update the file name to add V2 to the end of it.... Or is V2 update #2?

...so I can test it out for myself if V2 does indeed allow perk and achievement progression or not?

TLDR: this is a bit complicated theme. And if you want details, code examples or updated white-list muts you have to wait. I will be busy for loong time.

I don't say that whole WL is gone. I say that now its 'extended', due to TWI usual fuckups or secret intentions (who knows).

BadKarma released several versions of weapon workshop after WL-ed one, with major changes so now its greylisted. Dig for older versions and test.
NadeWarn is still WL-ed, at least v2.
ScrN, SP never meant to be WL-ed and they alter too many core mechanics.
Toymaster, Legacy are custom gamemods which are always greylisted.
Other muts have some functions that mess some core mechanics -> GL-ed.

There is more, but I won't bore you with a list of all the tested maps and muts/mods I've gone through to see if they allow perk and ahievement progression or not. :steammocking:

I see, ok well then explain to me why this mod doesn't allow perk and achievement progression if the the whitelist for muts and mods is lifted?

When I take it off the active mutators list, my perk progression is saved, but enabling the mut back, perk progression is not saved.....

Also, there are others to, like the Toy Master Mod, KFNadeWarn, Serverperks and or ScrN(this is given because it uses its own perk system anyways but I'm adding it here just for consistency sake), ShoulderCamMut, KF Legacy Mod, StalkerInvMut, ClotKilling, BuzzBounceMut, Flares, KFPortalTurret, KFStreakSoundMut, AutoRespawnv2, CustomSpawnFix, Metal Slug pickup sound, and some maps that run with custom .u files that disable perk and achievement progression that I've tested so far, mmm?

After latest 105x patches there is no more hardcoded-"classic whitelist", when TWI was deciding what muts are allowed to be in the list. And that Steamstats line now means nothing - it yells even at old, officially WL-ed muts but perk progression works ok.

Sorry, looks like I didn't get a notification when you commented on the 23rd until NikC here commented 9hrs ago, and got the notification....buggy steam notification.....

Anyways I can't seem to find that specific thread post anymore(my google fu seems to be failing me....), but in that thread post, someone asked what "STEAMSTATS: SECURITY CHECK FAILED" meant and a post answered with it means that mut/mod is greylisted and prevents perk and achievement progression....no mention about it not being a core file or any of that....

Well so far it appears to be working and perk and achievement progression is enabled....must have been a bug, glitch or something....well regardless I decreased the number of mods on it and seems to be operating fine..... Also I thought it was no longer possible to have whitelisted mods/muts because there are no more updates....?

Whitelist was tested at least on 4 different servers and 8 clients. If you have any problems with perk progression blame your setup and mutators. Or post full info here - solo-dedicated-listened, mut list, map vote, server actors, etc etc.

This is definitely whitelisted mutator, at least for the server. That was tested on several clients. Perks progression works fine. Check your other muts. Also, this [s15.postimg.org] doesn't mean anything. It just means that .u package is not KF core file.

That's because they don't spawn as actual players but *fakes*, hence fakes..... :P

Also I found out the health config, it was this line here: "minNumPlayers=6" >> Mine's set to simulate a full server. :P

Anyways, I discovered another thing about this; despite being greylisted it would at times allow perk progression......which is interesting.....as before it would completely shut me off....perhaps it must have been my other mods on it that disallowed so.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........or it could just be it being a dodgy mut.....hahahahaha :P

Too bad its greylisted....hahahaha not that I was gonna use it to power level my perks....... Hahahaha Because I'm already all 6's across all my classes! :P So it doesn't really benefit me that much - but what I *would* benefit from it is the fun of solo'ing whilst having MORE zeds and zed bullet sponge zeds to dance with....hee hee hee..... :P Which is again why I chose yours over scary ghost's mod.....

Ok, so now that I got that out of the way....how do you config the zed health from the config file? What extra line(s) do I need to add or change? Because I chose this over scary ghost's Speciman HP Config because of all the other extra options included that that one didn't have.......like faking the player count, telling the game it has six players, but you're the only one there so you will get six times the amount of zeds to dance with along with six times the zed health as usual if you were to play on a full server but I am unsure how to do this through the config ini file, perhaps you would like to tell me how?

...unlike some other greylisted mods where you *do* get perk progressions, but upon exiting the server they are not saved....but hey at least this tells you you won't be achieving anything right off the bat rather than tease you for it and you'll be like "Yes, finally level 6!" and then when you disconnect from the server to join a HOE one, your perk is back to levl 3..... and you think "What the fuck is this shit!?!!? I thougtht this was whitelisted?!?!?!!"

You can change player slots, fakes on the fly for everything listed above ^ But if you want to make a voting and dont type cmds every time use 'FakedPlus.Custom' .
