No progress has been made, we update when we update!

Now that you're back from your vacation and a good chunk of time has passed, what's the current status like now?

Right... I had no idea you were on vacation. I think I'll check back when summer's done while I find something else to do.

technically the emotes are done. It's just that the game renders the torso in front of the head, so half the mouth gets cuts off in the emotes. I've found no fix for this.

So. Good news. While emotes are still on our list, and the species icon is giving us weird issues, we've got armors set up! All we need is my spritework and they'll be fully ready. Once we're done with these armors and clothes, we can move on to cleaning up some other bits and pieces, and then it's weapon time! This will all feed into, eventually, arming NPCs and filling loot tables in preparation for towns and dungeons!

Hm... That's no good. The only thing I could do to help is that I hope you find someone fast, because since I've never worked on a single Starbound mod, I know literally nothing about any kind of scripting.

hit a bit of a roadblock with the emotes. the problem is that the game renders the torso overtop of the head so half the mouth expressions get obscured behind it. As far as I know the only way to fix this is with scripts, which is beyond our know-how. We'll need to find somebody else to do that.

When the time comes, the instant that update drops, I'm gonna be playing this game again for months on end on a second playthrough.

Making a list for the public to see would definitely help out.

regardless, odds are the next update won't come until everything is done. Should probably add a list of in progress/completed features that go in the next release.

Would the custom armor be the very last thing to work on after the villages/dungeons? And how long would it take to work on all this?

okay so I dug in the files and now I realize the villages should be the last thing we do. Gotta do items, objects, loot tables etc. all before we can even start with towns and dungeons.

main goal for me is otter villages. I'm dissecting some other race mods to see how they made it work (mostly the felin mod) and hopefully it won't require much actual coding.

It would be fantastic if you and the others started working on the sprites for some Dewott/Samurott styled armor by the start of next month after you get the other stuff done. I'm not demanding that you have to be done ASAP, but it would be very cool, and maybe I could help out with the spritework.

Nooooo idea. I've, of course, thought about it, but that's a loooot of sprite work I don't feel like dealing with until we have more core features down. Hate to keep you on the edge of your seat, but we'll see how this plays out!

I did not expect to hear that this mod is finally getting updated after waiting for over 4 months. Now that the announcement is out, do you think you could add Dewott/Samurott styled fur patterns or armor? I could wait for a few more months, but it would be great if it could be done in a week or two. You can remind me when this mod is updated. (Honestly, it's all I need to convince me to finally play this game again.)

gonna redownload and decompile everything and spend a day or four (or five) trying to figure out how to make attaran villages exist later this week.

It's okay tbh, not much of a problem anyway as it's not a gamebreaker bug.

This whole modding thing has proved to be really weird! I don't know where anything is, but once I find out I bet I'd go ham. Sorry things have frozen-- I've just reached the limit on what I understand about modding this game. Once I find some time and help, though, I really want to get back into it. Can't promise anything tho.
