this mod seems awesome, if you update it please let me know
Gorfob  [tekijä] 23.1.2020 klo 13.49
I will attempt to fix it. I haven't touched Starbound for ages at this point but the recent (not so recent) bounty stuff has been on my list to check out so I might reinstall it.

Alright, sorry about this. An exception was thrown due to the 2kb pottage (canned food form) being a duplicate with something or another. Please. Fix?
Edrane 26.10.2018 klo 16.16
Is this still viable? Doesn't seemed to be updated in a while. Wondering if you still have plans on updating and fixing if there's errors. It's a really nice concept for survival play and I would like to know hopefully that it's not abandoned.

I know you are busy with real life based on previous comments but if you could reply whether this is no longer or still functioning, I'll be out of your hair.

Please & thank you :)

I can't craft the Canned Poultry outside of admin. Does anybody have any idea why?

Did you ever get around to fixing in that patch?
Gorfob  [tekijä] 11.10.2017 klo 21.53
I've just finished with uni forever and just reinstalled Starbound. I'll get ontop of the few things mentioned here hopefully soon.

Hey, Gorfob, you seem to have a bug in the Workshop Item. There's a workbench block that uses a can to make Perfectly Generic Items. When made, error is caught and Starbound is forced to kill the server as it is a loop error. http://prntscr.com/g40i69 then gives the 10 items with the crash coming after and then http://prntscr.com/g40ik8 appears. Like I said, the items are given then loop error is caught and game forces internal server to be killed. If you make it again while you have the items you made in the inventory, then the items don't crash the internal server and then you go on to get the items fine and dandy.

I wonder if there will be Mod-Compadibility with other items as an extention worked with others? Say like Starchef, you know? Canned Corndogs?

I'm not seeing "Canned Cheeseburger" anywhere in the crafting menu of the Kitchen Counter, despite having already crafted a Cheeseburger and seeing all of the other Canned foods available for crafting.

Does it work for the weed mod?
Gorfob  [tekijä] 28.1.2017 klo 15.09
I do indeed know what Kne is talking about. I got haflway trhough adding some tile materials to make can piles out of empty cans but then got distracted by a new job, a new house and a new family member.

I'll message him and see if I can roll his patch right in and give the mod an update when I get a chance.

Kids use up waaaay too much time.

Its hard for me to see small letters correctly on my ultra hd monitor. So its Khe then. Anyway; do you know what Khe is talking about Gorfob?
Dust 20.1.2017 klo 3.31
Khe. Not Kne. KHE.
Letters of the alphabets, do you know them?
Andy0915 19.1.2017 klo 18.11
So someone named Kne made a patch for this mod called Gorfob's Cannery Patch. That person said that this mod was missing the tiles material; causing it to not work correctly. Do you know what Kne is talking about Gorfob? This mod has always worked fine for me so I don't know if I should download that patch.

Good mod. I`ll try it! But I think it is little imbalanced: canned food should have penalty for bonuses. It would be honest. For longer lasting food there is a fridge in the game.
Boon Boe 28.10.2016 klo 23.21
Cool! Thank you for the response! :)
Gorfob  [tekijä] 28.10.2016 klo 23.10
I totally removed the food aging script from the canned goods so it does last forever.

I found that by putting a long term rotting timer on it it broke the abilty to stack the items as food with different rotting values won't stack.
Boon Boe 28.10.2016 klo 23.02
GREAT mod! I love it! One question, does the canned food last forever? Or just a really long time? Because I don't see any indication that it ever goes bad.
mofenu 25.10.2016 klo 10.12
great idea, thanks for doing it !
Ninjaloose 22.9.2016 klo 4.32
I like the idea

Can you make a non-steam version for non-steam users? Thank you in advance!
Gorfob  [tekijä] 31.8.2016 klo 14.39
I have not checked compatibility with FU, as it's supposed to be more of a vanilla enhancement. However given that the only modifications to base files is the addition of the tin can item and adding a few lines of "learnBlueprintsOnPickup" to existing base items I believe it should function well.

I will test it prior to the next update and note it in change notes/description xxsmokestripexx
raspberisashimi 31.8.2016 klo 8.14
Is this going to be/ already compatible with FU?
Gorfob  [tekijä] 28.8.2016 klo 23.34
It's on my list of things to look into Royal_Jelly. As far as I can tell there is no way to get an item back when its consumed without some serious indepth modding which would screw with the whole eating system.

The idea of a can block is a good one. I might just add a can block recipe that gives 10 "Can Blocks" from 1 can. That way it's economical for decorative purposes. I'll look into doing something similar to how the books work.
Incompetent-Cartridge 28.8.2016 klo 11.42
I like the idea of canning goods to make them last longer, i also like how the player goes Bear Grylls and eats the can and food whole

this is a suggestion but would there be any way to make it can make cans that are consumed give back a can we can recycle? I'm also thinking i'd like to just take the cans and through them in a hole on some random moon (block of cans anyone?)
Fuyuno 28.8.2016 klo 3.49
ah yeah that might be a huge challenge xD
Gorfob  [tekijä] 27.8.2016 klo 23.19
Yeah fuyu I do. I tried with some of the base produce ones but I wasn't happy with how some of them turned out. So I jsut coloured the cans for the other things.

Reducing the sprites down to 4x3 pixles is a challange and I'm still fiddling with it. I have a few extra pixels to work with so I might make the cans larger to give me some more room. At the moment they are the same size as the "Canned Food" item you can buy from Infinity Express.
Fuyuno 27.8.2016 klo 21.11
any plans on adding some of the sprites onto the cans?
