These instruments are made using only a single sample recorded from the lowest pitch Mario Paint Composer could produce and then slowed down even further in Audacity to the key of A octave 0 (the exact speed of which was calculated using the pitch tool), producing a result which mimics the oh-so-basic speed-bending of the original "instruments". If you want one that sounds more real, you'll need to record an A note of all 8 octaves.
