Or do I just have to throw it away?
Now I have to create each pickaxe to find out which ones are better or worse? If the comments are just for fun or for real? WHY???
Well then. My work here is done.
But really, if it still doesn't work, let me know and I will TRY to fix it on my end, but like I said the mod itself was just a hackjob of copy/pasting code from other files, so I can't promise I'll be able to fix whatever's going on.
As for the patch thing, I don't know what proper protocol is for it nowadays, but back when I last updated it, you only needed to patch things that were already in the game. The .miningtool files were for adding brand new items. Can't really patch what isn't there, no? But everything should be obtainable, I know that much.
I haven't played this game in maybe a year now, and so I haven't done anything to keep the mod up to date. Already other mods haven't played nicely with it and I haven't been able to fix it.
Everything should be craftable and obtainable. I can try downloading the inventory mod you're talking about to see what I can do, but I make no promises. Link me the mod you're using.
however all of that is kinda null and void since it seems like the mod author has abandoed it and it hasn't been updated in a long time, since before the 1.3 update, which also could have just simply broken it, and it's not widely recommended to be playing outdated mods that haven't been updated since before that update. we MAY BE able to fix it on our end, but that's a big MAY BE
Hi. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you in so long. I've been quite busy.
I finally got around to trying to fix the compatability issue with the Many Tabs mod, and unfortunately I haven't been able to figure it out. To be honest, it's a miracle I even got it to work with ExtendedGUI - to a coder it's probably piss-easy, but a coder I am not.
Considering it's still technically playable even with the mod, (and considering I don't play this game at all anymore) I'm not going to make it a priority to figure this out. You and anyone else are more than welcome to tinker with it yourself. The mod can be downloaded on the Chucklefish forum link in one of the older comments.

I should have also put this along with my initial post but at the time I was still playing the game and completely forget the name of the mod.
Wait never mind, I see what you're talking about. Please still link me to the mod.
What do you mean by tabs on the left side? Do you mean in the crafting window itself, or am I looking at the inventory tabs at the far left of the screen? Also, please point me to the mod in question so I can download it myself for testing. I will try to do what I can.
I have a screen shot of my issue.

I hope this gets fixed cause I can't craft any picks nor drills.
Update 20Jun17
Added durasteel picks and drills as per user request.
Fixed a bug with ExtendedGUI compatability. If you have ExtendedGUI and are noticing issues, try downloading the version of that mod from here: http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/extended-gui.2575/
Note: Having trouble uploading this update to Steam, so for the time being it will have to be manually installed from the Chucklefish forums.

Not sure why I would have to do this be I sorta do for it to work.
I had a diamond pick[bought from a trader] and it only did a 3x3 area.
Not sure why it did this.
Incase anyone foolishly blames you again, 'Small Improvements' adds mis-named picks ;)
Fair enough, I was pretty certain no other mods I'm using were adding/editing mining tools.
I'll check through them again and be sure, thanks for replying!
- Gold pickaxe is named 'Titanium Pickaxe'.
- Titanium pickaxe is not capitalised.
- Tungsten on a number of items is named 'Tungusten'.
- Silver pickaxe is named 'Tungusten Pickaxe'.
- Diamond pickaxe is named Diamond-Durasteel, but requires no Durasteel...?
Other than that, a sincere and heart-felt THANK YOU for a must-have addition,
I can't believe they removed the basic tools in the first place!!
