Can that be fixed?
I would love to see this updated a bit with maybe some king of pointing function to whatever the chirper is on about. Its a casual player angle :)
Can you please update it if possible?
Zionix, I'm not getting any crashing on my end with the latest update. Do you have any Chirp-related mods enabled perhaps? Does it give you a crash dump?
Couple suggestions:
Margin slider for each end of the bar, so we can clear whatever icons show up in the future.
Option to keep scrolling while the game is paused (unless you point the mouse at the bar peharps)
Button in the options to make things take effect now instead of having to restart the entire program for it.
Right click on a chirp to immediatly kill it and let something more useful take it's place.
Hook into whatever the reddit chirpy interface is using to open web links on click so their chirps do that on your thing also.
TelMan, thanks! Yeah I'm still updating it intermittently when I boot up Cities Skylines and notice something awry or missing; I just picked up the Mass Transit DLC, and everything seems to be in order, basic functionality still works, though I'm not sure if any TM-specific chirps show up; they should.
You may have to adjust the width to get it to fit perfectly, due to the new Radio and Disaster icons, which I'll try and make the default in the next update.
Please let me know if there are any issues.
I've got a pretty good idea where the first two issues stem from, and know for sure where the last issue came from. :)
Other additions:
- Settings should change instantly when modified from the Esc menu
- Added an option to toggle the RED coloring of 'important' chirps, now turned off by default
- Added a 'drag handle' to the chirp banner, so it can be freely dragged around screen!
Red chirps should be the "importance" filter doing it's job, which can be adjusted in the options menu.
I'll look into possibly reloading config on adjustment, but at the moment, yeah a quit/restart will be required when adjusting most options.
I'll try and look into those mods for possible conflicts, and see about centering the banner. The width adjustment was a very quick change.
Regarding the right-click configuration menu, this is intended. The options are now all adjustable within the game's Option menu->Mod Options->Chirp Banner+ section. I'll go through and clean up the screenshots to reflect that now.

+ banner is semi-transparent and not fully black anymore
- right click configuration window does not show at all
- banner width shrinks on the right side of the banner and does not center itself so it still collides
with my traffic manager and directional traffic report buttons on the upper left of the screen.
I would vote for banner width option with auto-centered banner
- texture flickering occurs when this mod is active, could be an interference with any of the other

Still to come are looking into the Climate Control specific chirps, and the overlapping issues.
So I should be able to easily tackle the empty right-click config window, Mod Options not saving, and transparency issues in the next update, hopefully this weekend.
I'll look into making the size of the banner adjustable too, so you should be able to make it not overlap with other elements.
I'll also take a gander at the Climate Control mod and see how it's feeding it's messages in; right now there is no "support" for it unless that mod happens to create chirps in the normal fashion.
Still fiddling with the overlapping chirps issues, so that may take a while to iron out 100%.
- right click configuration window is empty, no options visible
- mod options in game default menu seems to do nothing at all, neither when a city is loaded nor from main menu
- the message bar is not transparent but completely black
- the message bar is very wide, so it is overlapped by other mods buttons (like TM+AI)
And a question is still unanswered - is this mod working together with Rush Hour and with Climate Control?
Because I never have seen a weather forecast, or it always appears when messages are overlapping and I can't read a damn thing.
Additionally, this update gives the ability to adjust the scroll speed, size, and colors just as before.
The Transparency slider is there, but iirc I hardcoded the transparency value to give it that SimCity feel, so the slider doesn't actually do anything, or shouldn't.
This mod is among my short list of must have mods, thank you for reviving it!
