HUGE UPDATE: Brand new models, textures, effects, stats, and more.
eloisiana 9 aug. 2022 la 12:33
The horn on the train when exiting the station is incredibly annoying. I had to unsub from this, please fix the horn, it shouldn't sound like the engineer is holding on the horn button.
Bob0831 22 iun. 2022 la 5:05
Any way I could get the texture files for this and the modern bilevel? I want to give the Sounder livery a go.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 27 ian. 2022 la 8:48
@nhatanh0475 - none of my Workshop assets are going behind a paywall - you'll always be able to download this one and dozens like it that I made without needing to pay at all.
nhatanh0475 27 ian. 2022 la 7:14
Oh so you allow this to be putted behind a pay wall hah? So how much money did you get? Enough to delete this?
I like, no I love your asset. The thing I don't like is seeing it behind paywall.
Fusion confusion 14 iul. 2021 la 18:07
This train is also used by exo in montreal
Poison 7 iul. 2021 la 11:18
it would be cool if there was one with the F59PH locomotive
markthered 6 apr. 2021 la 14:52
Whats the passenger count?
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 10 apr. 2017 la 18:33
@Frontrunnerfun12 - I'll have a version with a better locomotive for that out soon, then I'll start thinking about releasing the files for retexturing.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 10 apr. 2017 la 10:49
@Frontrunnerfun12 - This train is not officially released for retexturing. I put that warning in a long time ago when my trains were being exported with modtools and retextured without my permission. I guess you can still do that.
Lanrick2002 10 apr. 2017 la 10:32
how can I retexture this train
хорошая игра 30 mart. 2016 la 15:11
Would love to see a cruise ship thats realistic and larger!
Linx Fox 19 ian. 2016 la 20:26
Would love to see this in a GO transit skin, Old and new Metrolinx livery.

Even better with a MP40 or a F59PH
GRAW 1 ian. 2016 la 19:27
Can we get a CalTrain skin? Could be cooler.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 24 dec. 2015 la 17:08
@fatfluffycat - I doubt it - there's already a great one on the workshop. I want to move away from local commuter trains as well - there are a whole bunch of trains I have on my list that I want to do before another commuter rail set (barring any sudden inspiration).
fatfluffycat 24 dec. 2015 la 16:57
Will you make the MP40?
Hawkeye 19 dec. 2015 la 15:39
danjbraun, not sure where you're getting that information. BNSF & Union Pacific run almost the entire rail from mid-America to the West Coast. Mid-America is controlled mainly by CSX, who also runs into Mexico. NS & CN controls the vast majority of the rail from the Mid-America to the East Coast. Maybe you're focusing on passenger trains?
dbkoob / rctnextgeneration 16 dec. 2015 la 17:36
NO ORDER all trains except for city are run by Amtrak
Kropolis 16 dec. 2015 la 13:57
Because Americans need things to be big or else it's not American.
Evdeling 16 dec. 2015 la 9:28
bsquiklehausen - Thanks!!! I didn't know that! Isn't it also true that in the US there are much more private companies running the railroads compared to Europe. For example, all passenger trains in my country (Belgium) are run by the NMBS, a government institution.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 16 dec. 2015 la 9:04
ORDER69 - American trains generally have to travel longer distances than European ones. They also share tracks with massive freight trains, and the federal safety standards mean that the passenger trains must be able to withstand a crash from a freight train, making them potentially larger than they have to be.
Evdeling 16 dec. 2015 la 8:34
Why are all American trains so huge compared to European ones? Still an awesome model!!!
Kropolis 15 dec. 2015 la 23:12
Needs more guns or else it is not truley American.
dbkoob / rctnextgeneration 15 dec. 2015 la 13:27
cool
M2theC 15 dec. 2015 la 6:55
Ahem, I got excited about the Big Boy idea and forgot to say: this is simply marvelous work, well done.
M2theC 15 dec. 2015 la 6:50
+1 on the Big Boy request! I know it's not modern in the least, but with Union Pacific doing the restoration on 4014 it is totally viable as an excursion train.
Ez8 15 dec. 2015 la 0:30
oh and you can use CR as a logo for CimRail by the way.
Ez8 15 dec. 2015 la 0:25
Alright fair enough. I was just hoping for a old and new model, so that I can have a mixed fleet in my city.
BUZ 14 dec. 2015 la 22:39
nice train i love the f59
Ragin 14 dec. 2015 la 22:13
Any tips for making models or texturing in cities skylines?
Ragin 14 dec. 2015 la 22:06
Ok I'll look into doing some retextures or trying to do them myself.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 14 dec. 2015 la 22:03
The LIRR/Metro North multiple units all look and feel fairly similar to each other - I may make one set that takes design elements from each, but I doubt I'll make every option. I also would not texture them as LIRR/Metro North - they'd likely also be CimRail or similar.

As far as Australian trains go, I will certainly consider them - part of the reason I do American trains is because they are what I want in my cities, and many of the designs you shared are quite ugly. You may also get good results trying to retexture some European equipment - the XPT would be a perfect candidate for a texture job of the British Intercity 125.
dbkoob / rctnextgeneration 14 dec. 2015 la 19:52
if you do ez8 request can you do the lirr m1 m3 and m7 to
Ez8 14 dec. 2015 la 18:09
EMD GP40 locomotive with typical passenger cars
Ragin 14 dec. 2015 la 15:55
Well I live in Australia (which is even more under represented in the workshop) and I would like to see trains like the hunter railcar, xpt, nr class, 82 class, g set or xr class. These may not be too challenging for you because the diesel trains are similar designs to those in American. Although if you only do American designs may I recommend the DDA40x or the 4-8-8-4 big boy maybe.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 14 dec. 2015 la 11:04
RaginRaptor - I try to stick to American designs because it's what I know best, and pretty severely under represented here in the Skylines workshop. With that said - what do you want to see?
Marcel Caramel 14 dec. 2015 la 9:42
nice work !
Ez8 14 dec. 2015 la 8:47
Metro north M1, M2, M7, M8, please
Ragin 14 dec. 2015 la 2:39
Are you intending on only doing American trains because if you allow requests I have some trains that I could recommend although they are not American.
MadCat3D 13 dec. 2015 la 22:13
This is awesome,I ride this type of train all the time, and now my CIMs can too. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 13 dec. 2015 la 16:26
They hold 50 each - if I am remembering correctly. It's on the low side, but prototypical capacities are very overpowered for stock populations in this game.
fatfluffycat 13 dec. 2015 la 15:32
How many passengers can each of those cars hold irl?
Tim The Terrible 13 dec. 2015 la 5:02
damn great work once again!
BoSmoke 13 dec. 2015 la 3:14
Wow. Just wow. This is awesome work. Thank you.
fatfluffycat 12 dec. 2015 la 18:12
Its called "MoreTrainTracks"
fatfluffycat 12 dec. 2015 la 18:10
dgiminia, there's already a mod for that.

And great looking train! Can't wait to try this out in my city.
bsquiklehausen  [autor] 12 dec. 2015 la 18:07
I'll look into props - one of the potential issues is that vehicles and props use different emissive maps for some reason - these'd either have no lighting or I'd have to redo several maps.

As far as removing power lines, there's already a mod that does that, though the name is escaping me at the moment.
dgiminia 12 dec. 2015 la 17:38
also sticking with the american train concept, possibly make a mod that gets rid of power lines over rails
dgiminia 12 dec. 2015 la 17:38
yes we need these train cars for rail yards
