A couple of previews of the first end cap. Optimizing and tweaking textures - hope to have the next installment ready in a couple of days!

I think there are a lot of cliff side versions out there already. Such as sunken walls and some pier assets I have listed in my collections. This is different from those. :)

Thanks @Shroomblaze! Yah at first I didn't really think about the other altitudes of cliffs and shores and primarily tested this on flatter beaches. I don't think they'll work on anything but a gradual incline due to the angle I set the model at. Maybe I'll try to do variations if I can figure out more how to model these assets for the angles of the shore a bit more systematically instead of this trial and error business I did for this one.

Fantastic work, looking forward to seeing other pieces. At first I wasn't too sure because I was trying to use it on terraformed cliffs, but then I tried a gradual beach surface and it worked perfect. Here's my successful attempt at trying it out. http://i.imgur.com/veR9QdL.jpg :chirp:

No problems! I'll be looking forward to see the result. I could really use something like this in my current projekt, it's so heavy on waterfront that it gets redundant all over.

It's really cool that you appreciate feedback btw. I haven't looked into the modding scene myself, so I can't really help on the technical side, however, I'm pretty mod/asset heavy (and I thought I would be a vanilla player in the beginning... lol), so I'll happily test it in the future :)

Since I am very adamant about making a series of these piers I will for sure look into better ways to plop this. Thanks for your suggestions, sometimes I don't know which way to go until I hear from people! :)

Thank you @rrydbirk! Maybe I need to learn more about those - I've encountered a big issue with the angle of the pier that comes off the shoreline. The issue I'm having is the shore lines have an inherent angle and that the plot size will either "flatten" it - which makes land stick out beyond the pier rendering it stupid looking or it will not flatten it and conform to the land making it veryh curvey and angled - not straight at all. I will say I have limited playing time with those mods you mentioned and it may be one of those things I need to investigate.

Hey! This is really cool looking but I think it's a shame that is has to be placed this way. Have you looked into assets like Sunken Walls (either the road versions or the plopable versions)? They are always straight no matter the slope of the ground below - I believe you could do the same and remove much of the pain to place these and make them sparkle! :)

Thanks @LondSW & @beltawaun - hope to make some more pieces to make this asset set a lot cooler. This is just a "midsection" of the pier - and my first asset in the set - so I had to repeat it in the screenshots as I don't have the other assets yet finalized. It makes the scene a bit bland but that will change with more add-ons. I hope to add some more decorative end pieces and a couple of variations for the mid sections in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! :D
