@timekiller5392 thanks for clearing up what it does! Now i know how to use it.

To be honest, these are quite realistic considering I'm a former Toronto resident. (Your also right about the 401 in Toronto being extremely busy, that's the main reason we moved from there)

Upon further review, perhaps this interchange design could be tweaked so that either the inner or outer pair of roads could be elevated, possibly cutting down on size costs, and allowing roads to easily slip underneath the elevated pair of roads? I could totally see this interchange design being used well wherever an elevated highway runs parallel to the main road of a district.

Nice addition! I've been on them many times in TO. Now I just pay for the 407 to avoid 401. It's getting as bad as the DVP!!!
nhatanh0475 21 Thg08, 2019 @ 2:46am
Why it doesn't have a thumbnail in the games?
Princess_Katie 8 Thg08, 2019 @ 4:04am
This is the best interchange i have found so far! just change the incoming roads to 4 lanes (3 going on, 1 going off) and this thing will absolutely work wonders
boredomfalls 20 Thg06, 2019 @ 1:13pm
Bascially how this is used is if you want to have a highway going through your city, but want to be cautious of traffic, instead of using one way 3-6 lane highways you can create two parallel highway segments going in one direction. typically in america the center one is express outer is local. Your local side will have a lot of interchanges that lead into various areas into your city, while your express may only have one or two to allow a constant flow of vehicles that don't need the frequent exits. this interchange is how you get from express to local or vise versa. If you need an example of something similar use google to look at the NJ Turnpike.

I know it's not a video but it's at least some kind of explanation. Now because of the "AI" for vehicles it might not work the same, but worth a shot.

Does anyone have a video explaining how this is used?
Overheal 12 Thg02, 2019 @ 4:54pm
Rescue 401 has killed a lot of background noise on my Netflix man, I feel this.
Sergio 29 Thg08, 2017 @ 2:05am
SMART!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!

the 401 is an exotic place, id say
Scam Likely 15 Thg04, 2016 @ 4:58pm
This is still my most used interchange in the game. So simple, yet so useful. So easy to grasp, yet so exotic.
ironmatic1 31 Thg01, 2016 @ 5:09pm
I think that Network Extentions's 3 and 4 lane one way roads are much better suited to be frontage roads because of the lower speed limits and you can put zones on them.
ironmatic1 13 Thg01, 2016 @ 4:51pm
We have a lot of these in San Antonio, Texas to connect the frontage roads.
FOXZ 3 Thg01, 2016 @ 1:32am
good
danielgr.danielgr 2 Thg01, 2016 @ 12:06am
I like it!:steamhappy:
shadowwolftjc 12 Thg06, 2015 @ 10:08pm
I'd personally only want to use these when I want to connect my superhighways with the beltways that I surround my districts with. Even then, I'd want to modify them so that entrances and exits don't share the same lanes, so that weaving is further reduced.
MoonLiteNite 19 Thg04, 2015 @ 2:24pm
We need these in austin texas instead of just a normal weavelane hahah
Vladimir Putin 17 Thg04, 2015 @ 10:58pm
In order to need the express lanes, you'd need to have a substantial amount of commuter traffic likely only found in the biggest of cities. Also, another comment pointed out the traffic mechanic of the game that the express way will still need to be a fundamentally shorter route from A to B than the collector highway
Chard420 10 Thg04, 2015 @ 1:31am
Peach 23 Thg03, 2015 @ 7:48am
yes i have testet it. however the trafic dont seem to try to get into the express lanes even thou it whould help them. they will only use it if u make sure that the express lane trough an area is shorter then the collector
Trollsama 23 Thg03, 2015 @ 12:25am
has anyone tested the collector/express layout in game yet? it would be amazing if it actually worked :D

@nolasagne: thank you for the link. Found another awesome intersection right east of the airport "https://www.google.ca/maps/@43.670243,-79.5934986,15z?hl=en" . Will try to do it ingame cause looks to big for an asset.
Blue 21 Thg03, 2015 @ 8:30am
Flashbacks to the traffic of the 401! Yes, experienced that many, many times. Will subscribe the moment I get home so my cims can feel my pain. ;)

neoAkira 17 Thg03, 2015 @ 1:33am
will try tonight....Everything is easy in this game...except traffic managment
Trollsama 16 Thg03, 2015 @ 6:31pm
So the next question is, How well does the Collector/express system work in the game? wouldn't everyone just hang out in collectors unless they needed to cross the highway? (current AI is still in need of some work :P)
fmccobb 16 Thg03, 2015 @ 3:44pm
When you live in Vancouver this looks pretty foreign (highways here suck)
EzEleven 16 Thg03, 2015 @ 2:43pm
nice
rft183 16 Thg03, 2015 @ 5:58am
Nice. We've got a couple of them in Wichita Falls, Texas!
Pyrenoia 15 Thg03, 2015 @ 11:15pm
@Timboh, no problem man, I subscribed to basically all of your interchanges, you did some great things brother!
mess 15 Thg03, 2015 @ 12:26pm
Oh hey! It's the 401 in North York!
mestanck7 15 Thg03, 2015 @ 7:43am
Yeah, the 401 is crazy, 18 lanes at its widests. The proper term for this interchange is called the "basketweave" interchange :)

@Deverius: Well, now I'm feeling jelaous! I wish I could see such an amazing road every day... I suppose it might be a pain in the arse when the traffic starts piling up, but maybe that's just part of the experience. Oh, and I'm lovin' the #401! We need to get that trending! :D
Timboh  [tác giả] 14 Thg03, 2015 @ 3:24pm
@Flamytygwa: Cool! Maybe they're a lot more common than I thought! I mean, I've never really been outside Sweden much, so what do I know!? :)
halo1427 14 Thg03, 2015 @ 8:20am
One near me has the other side inverted, but looks almost exactly the same. Nice.
Pyrenoia 13 Thg03, 2015 @ 8:48pm
Mad respect for this.. I drive one of these every day and have to say they work pretty well! #401
Flamytygwa 13 Thg03, 2015 @ 8:17am
