I also would love a lite version.
Draedon 7. dec. 2024 kl. 9:23
is it possible for you to create a lite version of this mod that only adds the fog of war? I love the aesthetic, but I don't want more stars in the galactic core or the hyperlane changes.
MALAHIT 21. nov. 2024 kl. 6:09
Does it work with new cosmic storms?
Zerotonin 21. juli 2024 kl. 3:28
This mod was causing my game to crash on system view, and making some systems have no name
kinngrimm 17. juli 2024 kl. 13:25
Is your mod iron man compatible?
Gabriel Cooper 13. juli 2024 kl. 17:38
i am a bit confused, the compatibility list says it's compatible with gigastructures but this mod adds stars to the core, which is something giga does lategame, wouldn't that cause issues?
epicgamer 30. juni 2024 kl. 10:10
Having the same issue as Fast Boi- I don't load into my preset system, and other empires may claim the planet. Even if it starts unclaimed, my population appears on an uninhabitable planet.
Fast Boi 23. juni 2024 kl. 2:08
Hello, my human empire spawn is totally bugged, I cannot spawn in the SOL system even when I specifically put the SOL system in the empire edition, and when I spawn, I do so with other alien colonised planets INSIDE my spawn system. My origin is the domed one.
Shadow Dragon 12. juni 2024 kl. 4:21
Do I need to use the 1000+ sizes? I don´t want to melt my PC...
Dreden 18. maj 2024 kl. 4:49
If also using Wild Space 3, would the mod order between the two matter? Currently have them both near the bottom with this one just below it.

I've just added a couple new discussions providing info about compatibility and changes to vanilla files. I also updated the recommend mods section to include four more mods that I'd suggest checking out.
Audie  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2024 kl. 17:35
So I've discovered an incompatibility for "! Reworked Advanced Ascension". Regardless of load order, this mod will overwrite the "HYPERDRIVE_INTERSTELLAR_TRAVEL_SPEED" define that IHAFOW changes.

In order to fix this, go to your Workshop folder, and navigate to this folder:

"workshop\content\281990\1199002146\common\defines"

Then, delete the file named:

"伞AAR_defines"

Only delete the defines file with the Chinese character at the beginning. If you're using IHAFOW, you can safely delete this.
Shouravik 1. maj 2024 kl. 12:18
Are these safe to run with normal galaxies or do I have to use IHAFOW maps?
trwolf4 29. apr. 2024 kl. 0:56
thank you I've been waiting for something like this for awhile mainly because I lack the skills myself
Sozen 28. apr. 2024 kl. 13:29
Ive added this to my list just now and started up a new game, and while it does work it seems to only work in certain spots on the galaxy map. Some stars are visible while others aren't. Also, as I explore/survey/build outposts none of my discovered systems or hyperlanes are showing up. I thought it would be a conflict with Immersive Beautiful Stellaris but I don't think it is.

Any ideas?
Audie  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2024 kl. 9:46
>It works insanely well with graphics mods that change galaxy appearance (Immersive Beautiful Universe). The galaxy itself is still visible, but the stars aren't. That means you can appreciate the beauty of your galaxy mod while preserving the mystery of the fog of war!

I use that as well, and I agree, it looks insanely good.
REDbeard 28. apr. 2024 kl. 4:42
It would be really cool if the Great Wound system or other black hole could be programmed to pop up in the center of the galaxy
Quote 28. apr. 2024 kl. 1:39
Yeah, this mod instantly is now on my "Must-have" list.

It works insanely well with graphics mods that change galaxy appearance (Immersive Beautiful Universe). The galaxy itself is still visible, but the stars aren't. That means you can appreciate the beauty of your galaxy mod while preserving the mystery of the fog of war!

I like the idea, insane how some gfx tweaks can make a whole lot of a difference.

Regarding editing the IHAFOW_defines.txt file, I kept Ngraphics as it is but removed NGameplay and NShip altogether. Doing so prevents nebula names from appearing in the fog of war while removing all the gameplay changes

>Does this conflict with Real Space and all its addons? Or can I play this with them?

It works fine with Real Space, and it should be compatible with just about everything else. just put it at the bottom of the load order.
_____

>I also had a question. I usually play with 0.5 hyperlane generation. Based on the description, this setting is not recommended anymore?

I just tested it and it seems fine, just less hyperlane connections and more dead ends.
_____

>How does this interact with mods that add stuff to the core, like Gigas?

Should be fine. Like the other guy said, some of the stars added by events in the core might spawn a bit close to existing stars.
_____

>is there any version of this mod/mod similar to this with just the fog of war updates?

You can download this mod, then use the Paradox launcher to open this mod's location, then delete the "map" and "common" folders. Just note that if this mod ever updates, you will need to delete them again.
Cephalon Sithalo 26. apr. 2024 kl. 23:04
For gigas core, I would imagine the worst you would get is a few stars that might be close enough to overlap. It shouldnt outright break anything though. You should still be able to get into the various sytems scattered around the core :LotusFlower:
aercian 26. apr. 2024 kl. 22:39
is there any version of this mod/mod similar to this with just the fog of war updates?
U.N.A.T.C.O? 26. apr. 2024 kl. 12:30
I'd like to second "The Badger"''s question down below. I host a relatively extensive modpack with a bunch of dudes and would like something like this. Do you know of any immediate compatability issues with things like giga's center-of-galaxy spawns and events?
Wilmfe23 26. apr. 2024 kl. 7:04
I do like that they look more like zones here as that makes it feel more intuitive. A reoccuring problem with sci-fi strategy games is that galaxies are flat disks so there is no interesting geography to play around.
Wilmfe23 26. apr. 2024 kl. 7:02
I like most of this but I kinda wish you could eliminate the core part or give an option to turn that off. I like the core being inaccessible as it gives a sense of space to what is otherwise a flat disk.
John2Lionheart 26. apr. 2024 kl. 5:59
This is how the base game should be. I dont get Paradox attidude but it seems like they like making easy games now then hard challanging games. Oh well they want more customers i guese.

Thank you for the mod and this is a totally new game now and is what Stellaris should of have been.
The Badger 26. apr. 2024 kl. 5:48
How does this interact with mods that add stuff to the core, like Gigas?
Shouravik 25. apr. 2024 kl. 18:47
Definitely isn't compatible with something I have, not sure what yet but it straight up isn't functioning and is messing with all spawns.
Doze14 25. apr. 2024 kl. 11:02
Amazing mod thank you.
Kilya 25. apr. 2024 kl. 10:39
good mod
Deus Vult 25. apr. 2024 kl. 4:16
"Star height and star pins have been removed to reduce clutter."

I've been looking for a mod that does this just last week and you just created it. Must have read my mind.

I also had a question. I usually play with 0.5 hyperlane generation. Based on the description, this setting is not recommended anymore?
Commander Ashfield 24. apr. 2024 kl. 7:26
Does this conflict with Real Space and all its addons?
Or can I play this with them?
Rage000 23. apr. 2024 kl. 12:18
I have always like this mods concept. I wonder though is there a way to do this so that you can still see the stars. Telescopes. How to get to those stars would still be hidden.
Kepos 23. apr. 2024 kl. 10:13
Thx a lot @Audie. One of my favored mods. No idea why PDX didn't implement it into the base game already. :steamhappy:
Audie  [ophavsmand] 22. apr. 2024 kl. 2:33
After nearly 5 years, I've finally released a new version. I might release another version that has the additional tech and other changes that were part of the previous version of IHAFOW. Just need to see what's all changed since then before I do that.

Let me know if you run into any issues.
