The ships are objects, spawned by the gamemode, cannons are added as welded entities they are not spawned map wise because moveable spawn points to say one can not be spawned reliably using the hamr tools. Objects, spawnpoints, seats, the wheel, the invisable thrusters, all destructables would be stuck in place unless you modify stuff in the editor which could be easily done in gmod exported to a blueprint then added to lua script. I also tried to create a ship it is hard i wish the captain was here...

Theres a glitch where in multiplayer, it takes everyone's gun away sometimes. Is there a way you can fix it?

It only sinks in the gamemode not in sandbox, after you have destroyed about 85% of the ship.

You can't make cannons explosive, but there is an addon on the workshop called " Cannons! " (the name really says it all), with that addon, you can fire solid or explosive rounds (explosive is default)
