Heck, I rarely ever use this door (if at all) and I didn't even realize it, but yeah... It has fallen behind in its design compared to other blocks. It doesn't quite fit the current design aesthetic Keen has been going for recently.

I recently was saying to a friend that its lovely they have added so many cool door blocks, but the original one looks trash and its a shame they haven't updated it.

I wouldn't call it the ugliest model. I actually rather like the simplicity of the vanilla Door. Sliding Door could use an update.
IMO Ugliest model would probably be the standard Ion Thruster.

This looks great for a door! I usually use these ones for thrust shielding because the vanilla, low detail surfaces work well on large ships.

But at least we get ports to objectively worse platforms and a panel that shows dumb smiley faces.
