i mounted a camera on my security building on a rotor slow speed and use it a a security panning camera can stop turning with lock button

Keen should just have a "Rotate view" option in the camera settings, but this is a decent workaround for now!

I can't believe how I have overseen TSOs mods for such a long time... shame on me.

This bottom/left/right mounted cameras gave me childish joy - thank you!

add this one to the "should be vanilla SE" list GG
hskensu 22 aug. 2023 la 13:32
Looks like what should have been vanilla:(
Thanks for the mod!

@Muxufli - I did not see this issue, but I have seen something like this before. I re-exported the models from blender with no other changes.
Muxufli 18 aug. 2023 la 14:09
Is it just me or the cameras became invisible?
BIV 9 iun. 2023 la 13:20
@Viper - Seems to be the way , at least Keen doesn't fight it, let the Modders run free I reckon.
Viper 23 mai 2023 la 10:55
it's becoming pretty standard practice for game devs to rely on modders to finish basic parts of their games for them
Jack Daniel069 10 mai 2023 la 14:02
awsome... why keen didnt implement these vannila is beyond me. ssems like its more budget freindly to rely on modders to finish the game for them
Mailleweaver 9 mai 2023 la 11:22
Beautiful.
The very first thing I wanted to do with the new camera was mount some on the bottom of my rover. That obviously didn't work out too well. I guess the people at KSW don't actually play their game to notice these obvious deficiencies. It's not like having only a top mount adds any kind of interesting engineering gameplay, so why didn't they also add bottom and side mounts along with the top mount? Baffling.

Can you do the same with the view and control of the gun turrets?
Kitsune_117 7 mai 2023 la 14:40
iv been waiting for this mod! iv been getting by with camera panning but it just dosent cut it. keen should add all these to the vanilla game
Jayce 7 mai 2023 la 14:12
Thank you!

Holy molly, this is just what I need!
Octavius 7 mai 2023 la 3:45
this is a good solution. sadly keen didnt add the option to rotate the camera view like they did with the screens on the lcd
Osker 7 mai 2023 la 1:09
Thank you for this!
BIV 6 mai 2023 la 4:04
Good on you mate, I had noticed the problem with the camera view but I have no idea how to create a mod so as to fix it. Hopefully Keen will ask you nicely if they can borrow your good job. Onya.
TheSlaveOne  [autor] 5 mai 2023 la 20:23
Yes Digi's Camera Panning can "fix" the vanilla Top mounted. So you would not need this mod, but you would always have to rotate the view. This mod starts the camera's initial view in the upright forward position. I also always use Digi's mod.
AlienXtream 5 mai 2023 la 20:14
OH! i forgot that since i use that camera rotating mod... >.<
TheSlaveOne  [autor] 5 mai 2023 la 17:25
The vanilla Top Mounted Camera can be rotated to these other positions, but there is a problem.
When rotated the camera view is fixed to the top of the camera.
So when the vanilla Top Mounted camera is rotated to the bottom mounted position and the camera is viewed; the image is upside down.
Likewise rotated to the left or the right the viewed image is on its side.

This mod makes the camera view upright in the Bottom, Left and Right positions as you would expect a forward facing camera.
AlienXtream 5 mai 2023 la 17:01
i cant tell if this is a serious mod or one of those silly joke ones. cant you just... rotate the camera to any orientation? or does this change the offset position on the block to not be restricted to the centre?
Lunatricky 3 mai 2023 la 9:13
Thank you!!!
Keen should've just made this to begin with. They even called it TOP mounted cam....
