The character gets stuck when the booster pack should drop the items.You can still move around, but you can't turn around or open another booster pack.
It fixes itself when you change items.

For anyone having issues with nothing happening when you click the gear, are you subscribed to Fix Starbound (Fix code omissions and bugs; holiday items; disabled vanilla items) ?

If you are, it overwrites the collection LUA and gui files. Try unsubscribing from it and seeing if you can click the gear icon.

@Marauder It should not give you that kind of errors, but it is possible that it happens, just the GUI should freeze, exiting it fixes it, but yes, there is a chance that such errors happen, the only solution is to install the CCR mod.

I crash on launch with this error:

There is no need to install the "Custom Collections UI" mod because this mod integrates that one 100%, having the 2 installed would be redundant and could even cause problems xD

This mod is Custom Collections UI but with fixes and new collections added, any new collection you install, this mod will detect it as long as that collection is made to be used with Custom Collections UI, if it works for that one, it works for this mod, they have the same functionality, but better.

@PassionateAboutPonies I've tried in various ways, and it works in all of them. I've tested with mods in "local" (in .pak files in the game's mods folder), even subscribed to my own mod (and its requirements) and the Paper Mario mod. It works well in every possible scenario.

You must have a mod causing the collections not to appear. Just subscribe to this mod and its requirements, and the Paper Mario mod. I can't fix what's already working well, sorry :S

Okay, what's the problem? It works fine for me. The two collections from that mod are added to this one without any issues. I just checked, there's one collection with 3 objects and another collection with 162 food items.

You subscribe to this mod (CCUI with Fixes), the two mods it requires, and the "Paper Mario" mod, all working fine. Make sure you're not subscribed to both the original CCUI and this CCUI with fixes because you'll have a conflict; both mods do the same thing. The original CCUI is fully integrated into this one, so you only need one.

It's working perfectly. In fact, any collection meant to be used with the original CCUI works flawlessly with this mod too. But you can't be subscribed to both the original CCUI and this CCUI. Obviously, I recommend this one, it's 100% compatible with any race mod that adds its own collections.

@dc Thank you for the heads-up. I've asked the mod author for permission to add their mod to mine, and it seems they don't have any issues with it. I'll add it to my CCUI as soon as I can; I don't always have the time, so please be patient.

Just for your information, when the collection is added, if you already have cosmetics saved, they won't be registered because you already had them. However, there's an easy solution: pick up the cosmetic, "drop it on the ground," and then pick it up again. This will register the cosmetic normally. This is a limitation of the original CCUI, and as my CCUI with fixes uses the base CCUI, it maintains that limitation.

I think there was a critter that was "repeated", but in reality it is not repeated xD it is a different color version that counts as a new one (in fact I think there was more than 1 that has 2 different versions, same critter, different color) , if I had to bet, I'd say you still have one left to really capture.

Thank you for the clarification, I tought weights were a way to represent percentages, now everything makes sense :D
I found out my problem was caused by an unusual high spawn rate of some monsters with high drop rate for mystery cards, I tested in a separate vanilla folder and it doesn't happen.
Anyhow it's a non-issue because as Davoker correctly said before I get a lot of doubles so it's not that easy to complete the collection.

Right, I take it for granted that you do not have the mods that this mod includes installed, in the description is the list of collection mods that are included here.

It is not necessary to have them installed:

Original CCUI
Armor Collections
Lex Instrument Collections
Lex Legendary Collections
Plushies & Dolls Collections
Geode Rewards Collections
Trading Cards
Manufacturer
Trading Cards

All these mods are "included here", CCUI is fully integrated, any new collection you install (not listed above) will work with this mod because CCUI has its full functionality.

Another clarification, this mod includes Trading Cards, you do not need it installed. Installing both might cause the patching process to introduce values into the treasure pool twice. Making the drop probabilities go haywire.

Hello @Nephirus90 Sorry. I've been busy. Your analysis is correct. It's not possible to patch treasure pools reliably because the index for each item can't be known. At least not through json alone. It is possible that through lua scripting you could recover the item list, iterate on it and search by name, but I haven't done such a thing. So can't confirm.

Still, although I can't help with this issue I'd like to make a clarification. Treasure pools work with weights, which are not percentages. The probablity of a weighted event to happen is it's weight divided among the total sum of weights of every item in the list.

For example. If you have two possible events A and B. A having a weight of 1, and B having a weight of 3... the probability of A happening is 1 / (1+3) or 1/4 which is 0.25 or 25%. Imagine having a bag from which you draw a piece of paper. The weight is the amount of papers with that option that goes in the bag.

When I have time I'll copypaste this mod and test it on my end changing a couple of values to see how it works.
Because there's still something I'm missing, the mystery card is between 1% and 5% for most monsters so I can't understand why I found so much of them, I need to found out before ruining your mod drop rates :D
