@Zergologist That is a bit out of scope for this mod as this just adds an extra logic for tvs, not children.
Zergologist 24. juni kl. 18:58
could this mod also make it so that adults interact with bed-ridden children to increase their growth tier without the television or is that something for another mod?

@Narlindir Please see the Reporting Issues section described above

BetterLoading
BetterLoading did not display because not all of your modded .dll files (assemblies) loaded
properly.
This probably means you have a bad load order, or you're missing a dependency, such as
HugsLib.
BetterLoading has nothing to do with this, and it would have happened anyway, we're just
letting you know.
Don't report this to the BetterLoading dev. If you want to report it to anyone, report it to the
developers of the mods below, but it's probably an issue with your setup.
The assemblies that failed to load are:

TV is Educational - AchievementsExpanded_TVIsEducational.dll, TVIsEducational.dl

If you would like to see what info BetterLoading has been able to work out in terms of mod
misconfiguration, open the log window (you may have to enable developer mode in settings
first) and look at the warning messages from BetterLoading.

Can you make tvs give small amounts of xp in random skills to adult colonists? kinda like in Project Zomboid.
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. 2023 kl. 23:02
@lilwhitemouse I suppose not
lilwhitemouse 2. sep. 2023 kl. 15:49
And given that children can start with 0 learning, those children wouldn't find lesser TV at all useful?
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 28. aug. 2023 kl. 11:02
@lilwhitemouse The mood of the child also affect the amount of education given. At low tech-level it may just be enough to not fall and not increase. To increase I think a flat-tv and a happy child is needed.
lilwhitemouse 28. aug. 2023 kl. 7:59
I found that the Learning was staying so absolutely low for the pawn I had in bed with paralytic abasia that they never actually got closer to the next learning level. I had a tube TV, but still, learning kept jumping back to 0.
I think the system only takes pawns closer to a new level if the learning bar is above 0? And there didn't seem to be any way for me to get that...
Am I missing something? Doing something wrong?
Thanks!
Catch Lightning 22. mar. 2023 kl. 23:53
Also thanks for responding. I use a lot of your mods and they are awesome.
Catch Lightning 22. mar. 2023 kl. 23:47
Ugh. Not burning. Next you expect me to feed my children. If I'm doing a blind run do I need a radio instead of a TV?
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2023 kl. 23:27
@Catch Lightning They need to be alive, awake, not in a mental state, not burning capable of seeing/hearing and lying down
Catch Lightning 22. mar. 2023 kl. 23:21
They better not being learning while they sleep. Wouldn't want the slaves to have ideas.

And thank you. I guess those tribal kids are pretty screwed though.
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2023 kl. 11:47
@Catch Lightning Good point, should now only affect pawns actually lying down
Catch Lightning 22. mar. 2023 kl. 2:25
Would you consider a toggle for radio education? I have them around my base and it turns out they were maxing out the slave kids I had on recon and stonecutting. It doesn't feel right that they should be growing as well adjusted considering they don't get out of a 10 tile radius area...

Or maybe a toggle to have the entertainment education only work when injured/sick?

It just seems too strong right now but it is also so useful when little timmy gets malaria and spends a while in bed.
NuclearFilms 15. mar. 2023 kl. 11:33
Awesome, now I can turn my pawns into furries naturally instead of (completely ethical) genome editing
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2023 kl. 0:54
@The Beast I dont understand the question
The Beast 3. mar. 2023 kl. 0:50
i wonder does it work with some trait mods like if it's g@y will they get the trait ?
lilwhitemouse 27. jan. 2023 kl. 20:37
I guess the devs never got around to implementing this. Thanks for stepping up! I have wanted this ever since I had a paralyzed child too!
Tundra C. 24. jan. 2023 kl. 6:06
I imagine there are still tv antennas and satellites despite rimworld being Rimworld.
Brumous 24. jan. 2023 kl. 5:00
«Life and Living TV» now in RimWorld. How sweet
Al120 23. jan. 2023 kl. 17:42
Thanks, now I don't have to send my kids to fight mechs and bug infestations.

I mean they still will. BUT it won't be the only thing they do.
Teusdv 23. jan. 2023 kl. 15:47
what about converting pawns with propaganda ?
Lyn the Cookie 23. jan. 2023 kl. 11:38
Finally now my Biotech children can watch Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street
Mechanized Battle-Thomas 23. jan. 2023 kl. 11:25
unrealistic. it should actually make them dumber.
Kitiana Foxtail 23. jan. 2023 kl. 10:16
Sweet! I grew up on Mr. Randy's Neighborhood. Now my kids can to. Thank! ;P
Amnesiac 22. jan. 2023 kl. 15:24
Thank you for this mod! I was wondering why there wasn't a way to have teachers come to a child's bed. This is a good idea too.

SCIENCE RULES... BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY! BILL BILL BILL BILL BILL BILL
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2023 kl. 9:41
@Albert Newton Should be fixed now
Lord Peter 21. jan. 2023 kl. 8:01
@Mlie: Ah, I see, that's fine then. Probably should have tested it out before criticising ^^
Mlie  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2023 kl. 6:04
@Lord Peter Its not a learning type, its an effect of being awake near a tv. Its not strong, its at maximum less than half of normal learning. Since its not an activity you cannot force them to watch. It will only affect them if they stay in the tv area for longer periods.
Alexandr 21. jan. 2023 kl. 5:19
Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill Bill Bill!
Lord Peter 21. jan. 2023 kl. 5:02
A good idea. But balance could be tricky... is it strong enough to invalidate all other types of learning? They each involve some small "risk" (child running outside, filth generated by drawings, adult teaches instead of working), and the need to switch between them requires you to provide several.
Will try out how powerful it is ingame; but if it's a problem, maybe it could be made so it's only 100% effective for children incapable of movement, and only one of several learning types otherwise.
Albert Newton 21. jan. 2023 kl. 3:20
Exciting not exiting
995Joey 20. jan. 2023 kl. 19:51

SanguinarcAQL 20. jan. 2023 kl. 14:14
I love the idea ! i had a child who got almost burned to death, he was stuck in the hospital bed for a year and could not learn anything, but now he can watch cartoon network AND UCTV
