Because usually, huge maps don't hold as much detail/content as 'original' maps, theoretically, you could create an open world that fills the Hammer grid entirely (maybe 3km by 3km, I don't know), but it would be quite visually empty. Also, some mappers might use custom scripting to keep things more stable, dunno almost anything about scripts so I just assume stuff.. :spazwinky:

You mentioned that keeping the map whole without loading is not possible due to the way HAVIK or whatever it was called functions, right? I was wondering, how come some huge maps like the Silent Hill Map are possible with this limitation?

Glad you like it, maybe some day someone will port L4D2 in another engine that allows seemless maps without loadings, one can dream, in the mean time, I is happy you enjoyed my humble little attempt at it though :8bitheart:

Thank you so much for making this! This is exactly what I was looking for - I saw this other map that said is sewed together all the campaigns, and I thought it would be a truly seamless 14 or more maps with no loading. That was not it... but THIS is! Or at least, it is for one of the maps.

Just a heads up for others, if you use Left4Bots don't issue the command to lead/scavenge because that breaks the AI (I assume the bots see that the finale is a scavenge mission): they will backtrack half map to pick up a gas can and carry it all through the level. Worse is that when you issue the Scavenge command they might warp out of the elevator or as I mentioned, fill the car with a non-scavenge gas can and that seems to break the finale and doesn't allow the ending sequence to trigger. I'll report this to the L4B guys to see if they can reproduce and if it can be fixed.

Awesome ZOMBUSTER, it seems that the spawns are fixed, I tried it now and the hordes in finale are much more consistent, making the finale more akin to vanilla Dead Center! 10/10

A small update was released :

Changed the way zombies are spawning in the finale (more zombies and a few normal commons are present now) --------- Please report if it's too hard like that !


Changed some trashbags drawing distance (3 near ceda tents on the mall's parking lot will appear from farther)

Fixed a bad reflection (was too bright) on a glass ramp to the right after climbing the escalator

OHHHH that's something I didn't mention, I always open the closed doors in vanilla Dead Center because that way it spawns fewer zombies as opposed to allowing them to break it down, that actually causes a whole horde to come out of the door, which is especially useful when everyone scatters at first going for the furthest cans. Yeah I guess the habits start to stack up with all those hours lol. Glad you did actually find the issue with the little info I was able to provide.

Actually I did make zombies spawn ONLY inside the blocked exits for less difficulty, maybe that's why there was less of them, my bad, I rectified it in this version in addition to the normal commons now..I hope it won't be too hard now, I'll rectify it later if some people say it's too hard ^^ :pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie::pixelzombie: :pixelzombie:

Ok I guess I can add some (few) normal zombies for you, I don't think the community would react to it badly since the map is now quite old, and changing it over time might also bring people like you who likes a different experience after a while, also the map is long and it can be quite frustrating to die late in the map or at the finale, thus the "easy" finale with many biles, but I didn't change the script of common spawns though..maybe it's because the director knows that there is many "hard" uncommons to fight and it dials down its number..? No idea but I will change the spawns, no problem ! :boomer:

Sorry I'll explain more in detail what I meant, so I got zombies but it was only uncommons, nothing wrong with that (I mean I saw the guy who's game crashes but that's besides the point), but the numbers were much lower than a regular horde, maybe it's because I use a melee/shotty usually instead of pistols/main so they don't really get overwhelming unlike commons, so while I even saw a couple of Jimmy Gibbs spawn, and they are hard af to kill with guns, with melee they still die in 1 hit, maybe that's what happened? because yeah I see how it would be unbalanced to jack up the number of uncommons while keeping commons the same, like using a molly or pipe bomb wouldn't be as effective to have them go away while reviving someone since the hazmat guys aren't affected by fire, or how construction workers ignore pipebombs. I still believe adding a few commons to the mix would make it that much more exciting though.
I'll play on advanced to see what's the feel I get.

Weird you did get any of the zombies in the finale, I made them all spawn as uncommons so maybe it has to do with a breaking other mod or som' ?

I mean a passable one but the finale is just meh at best (as in it's got the fun taken out of it) with so little infected. If this had commons spawning there it would be good.
