I need help. I just can't get a silencer on any weapon. The character takes a screwdriver and a silencer, starts putting it on and that's it. The silencer just stays in the hand.

I can only assume that Maxwell218 is waiting for VFE to get updated for build 42. Also an important note in case not one heard, STENDO_CLIP sadly passed away but, Veilspring wants to continue his legacy and keep a mod that means a whole lot to the Zomboid community alive. It is very likely that it is going to take a while for VFE to get updated and this mod has a VFE Patch

While using both VFE by STENDO_CLIP and Silencers, using these mods together, its amazing. everything works nearly perfectly, the only "Bug" ive experienced is that you can install a silencer and laser on the same weapon. Not much of an issue. All around a great mod

this only replaces the audible sound for the player but does not change the actual sound reduction of any weapon as such.

It works on M36 well but on JS 2000 texture of silencer is missplaced and theres like big ass silencer next to my character xD

@nastynick66 they only work for a certain amount of shots. Not sure the exact amount but i know for the bottle it only lasts for a few shots and doesn't lower the volume by much.

I have the VFE patch version installed after VFE. Made water bottle silence and installed on rifle.. only a .22 so not high damage. However when fire gun the noise volume remains same as if no silencer and whole group of zombies heard and came after me. Is it limited to one shot use or something or should the silencer work indefinitely?

Pls tell me you working on an update of this mod because its been making some weapons in VFE invisible (outdated), its just some guns~ mods still works fine but heck it my overall gameplay felt screwy.

Oh and, one more thing - I don't mind it myself - but many people I play with absolutely hate the sound of silencer, citing it as arcadey, cartoony, or otherwise disfavourably - I dont mind it that much as I kinda like the pew pew; but would you open to the idea of expanding the sound set in regards to VFEs weapon list? Or is this, combined with my previous comment, just a headache to consider pre-build b42? (In 100 years that is)

So how come you cant use a laser and a silencer? Its a general and fairly opaque question, but what I mean is, what is preventing the use of a laser and silencer together?

Does the game only allow the silencer to be designated in the same and exact attachment slot, are the silencers hard-coded by requirement to be coded for that slot, or are they flatly incompatible with lasers? Would there be a way for to not occupy a slot? I am not familiar with modding, lua, coding or anything of the sort, but I'd be interested to hear the answer.

Would there be any way to alter the laser and/or silencer and its associated elements to facillitate use with a barrel attachment? That would be insanely cool honestly.

Also, side note - You can't mount a silencer on a G18 - Not sure why. Is this intentional for balance purposes, or an oversight?

I think it would be better to embed the installation option into "Install Accessory", just like "Remove Accessory", instead of taking up a separate space in the right-click menu.

Can you make a mod that adds silencer to the VFW - Post '93 mod?

@Arcraven you just need your gun, silencer, and screwdriver in your main inventory, and then right click your desired weapon and you should have the option of attach upgrade/silencer.

Could we get a weaker version of this such as halved base mod's reduction, or sandbox settings to do so?

I'm stupid. How do you attach the silencer to an M16? All it says is "Use a screwdriver", but I don't know what to click or what to do.
