You are probably having issue with a different mod because this mod only modifies the texture files.

Since I loaded this mod and the improved armor visuals, units no longer build field deployables for archers or muskets.

Nice job, wish someone had the ability to make Sengoku Armies more accurate in that they werent giant swarms of single colors like popularly depicted. Rather a beautiful mural of colorful variety.
