Aha! I realized that after some further tests. Some of the "scenic" maps I wanted to shoot at had cubemaps that weren't very good. No amount of gloss trim could really have helped in those cases! :) I kinda just want to make my own maps. (It's been a looong time, though!) It will depend on what map you're playing on. If you play on a map with no or bad cubemaps they'll look matte. The map I used for these (TDMs showroom maps) has a huge cubemap which.

I understand that you don't accept friend requests for questions and stuff, but I have one question. It's not a request or anything, I just wanted to know how you get your cars in the screenshots to look so glossy. Even with mat_specular 1 on, my cars still look pretty flat.

I was actually hoping to take some screenshots of various cars (like yours) in various maps just to practice my camerawork. I wanted them to have a showroom, high-gloss paintjob to them, and I was wondering how you did it! Thanks for your help! :)

Not that the amount of cylinders matter, its just that normally the supercar would usually have a V8 or V12 setup.

I find it funny how jaguar makes V12 and I12 saloon cars and then the 220-mph Jaguar XJ220 is a V6 lol
