Small bug, If you use this one in a large grid (Mag lev 3blocks), when it still a Static Grid, you can't convert it to a ship, even if those blocks are not weld, by just removing them, you can then convert and add them back

Hi, I want to use the MagLev to park a drill in position to extend the pistons above, but the Mags dont lock onto the sides of the hole - what am I doing wrong?. The MagLevs are purple - what does that mean?

The mk2 version uses the same id’s as this version. The version 2 is meant to be a replacement to this mod for people that wanted longer engagement distances.

What exactly does it mean by "stronger lock"? The landing gear already makes the grid unmovable when locked, so do the maglev plates just make it unmovable-er?

Additional details to that comment I made earlier. When landing on terrain you need to mine out everything below the gear to get unstuck even if auto lock is off & your gears are unlocked. Not sure if it is still relevant sense it has been a bit but yeah.

Yours work great, once you hit that button the ship locks in place and nothing can move it. I started to use them on the sides too so you park anywhere there's a wall, branch or a stiff drink. Well done mate. I haven't been able to figure theirs out yet (really).

I tried out the MagLev landing gear today and I reckon it is fantastic, when you turn those puppies on you ship goes nowhere! I even tried to see just how stable they were buy tearing down a ship while it was parked on two MagLev's , waiting for them to give way at any yime and squash me but no. Ground down entire ship and these things were still in place on their own. Great work mate, really appreciate it. Cheers.

@Sargonnas: any way to make them lock from 1x or less distance away? This is the only thing i can fit for my ramp, but it doesn't lock when the ramp is flush with hull.

i have quite a big grid with multipe subgrids and those subgrids have the landing gears but it seems like only 1 can lock at any given time. is this on purpose or a bug?

I`ve noticed that autolock option is switching off every 5 seconds after i turn it on. Not sure if my mods are messing up something. Anyone has something like that?

Works perfectly. Good high tech replacement for landing gear. Only wish it could have some sort of animation, or a bit brighter glow when Lock On - that would fit nicely with Neon style armor. Maybe replace color between "Available" and "Lock On" modes? I think more saturated glow fits working mode better. For example, while it is available to lock it glows dimmly, but when it lock on it glows brightly and with saturated color to reflect it is powered on and working.

First off, great work! I'm having an issue though where sometimes these landing gear are unlocking themselves when reloading a world. They flash different colors and have to be locked again manually. This only happens to some, whereas others attached to the same grid are unaffected. Vanilla landing gear attached to the same grid don't seem to be affected at all. Specifically I'm using the small grid 3x3 on the vehicle side, then locking to station. Not sure if that's helpful at all.

suggestion for those who want a really long lock range: Use this mod in conjunction with Sargonas' Piston maglev mod. It looks dope, just like this gear, and can move out a really far distance. I don't recall seeing a small grid piston in that pack tho, may be something the author's working on.

The distance is controlled by the actual model. To my knowledge it cant be adjusted via script but I will look into it. :)

Are you able to modify it so that players can specify the distance? Perhaps if you could make the distance scalable to power consumption. That way you can satisfy those who want large and small distances.

@sargonnas - if you do a a version that has 3 or 4 block range I would love it. I have a couple very large ships and getting them 2 blocks off the ground is sometimes a huge challenge.

Amunsul, you are correct. 2 block range for either large or small grid versions. I just retested the measurements and it is working as intended. It seems like such a short distance because small blocks are so small :). If enough people comment that they want it increased to 3 blocks I can do that but it seems people are happy with it as it is now so far.

just confirming, when you say block height engagement range, for small grid, tats 2 small blocks high? and large grid is 2 large blocks high? cause i have these on small grid ship and it seems like i have to get them touching the ground to actually be able to lock.

They work the same as landing gear. Just put them on the bottom side of your ship. Then try to land. They will auto lock just like landing gear or you can manually lock them when you get within 2 blocks distance of a voxel/surface of something.
