Very well done!

That whole experience was exhilarating and scary. I actually enjoyed the darkness, the flare, and the removal of the gravity gloves. I suppose everyone just has a different taste!

The removal of the gravity gloves does well for creating immersion and tension, but really goes against the core game design of Alyx and throws accessibility out the window. I'm a fairly short individual and found using the height feature in the base game didn't do much for reaching high up spaces, even when jumping IRL on top of that. This mod is basically impossible for single controller players, which isn't an issue for me, but can cause real disappointment for those who only get to enjoy the first and last portions of the map without needing quick hands to juggle inventory, guns, reloading, moving, and the flare. My advice for fixing these issues would be to add an option when loading up the map to enable or disable the gravity gloves and add an option to add the flashlight on top of that so players don't need to fumble around so much.

Disabling gravity gloves and making a physically carried flare object under the pretense of "immersion" actually result in nothing but frustration. For what feels like the entirety of this walk, I'm expected to operate a firearm with one hand. If I have to reload, I must drop the flare, which completely throws the room into darkness, and because there are no gravity gloves, I am forced to fumble around in the dark trying to find the flare while getting slapped. You then get rid of the flare and replace it with a wheel while approached from both sides from what might as well be infinite enemies with limited resources. Once again, my hand is occupied and I'm expected to reload a firearm with one hand. I'm out; this sucks.

Very very cool, The limited visibility really ups the tension. I only wish it was longer.
SaVage| Mr.Blond 3 apr, 2023 @ 18:16
That was terrifying. Loved it anyway.

Absolute 10/10. Here's a video to actually see what some of it's like:
[SPOILERS] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mwGBEHkiBs&feature=youtu.be [SPOILERS]

I don't expect you to watch all of this.

Note to author: I re-made this video; I was not happy with the first version. Maybe this is something you can use on the page. Feel free to if you like it enough. I brightened the video very slightly so viewers can see just a tad, while maintaining the atmosphere of your amazing mod. This is seriously a 10/10. Good work!
T-Bone 20 jun, 2022 @ 10:43
oh man this was a proper horror trip. Being always short of ammo was really adding on top of it being scary. Don't have anything to critisize. Wished it would be longer though :)
Storm99199 6 apr, 2022 @ 21:58
That dark part in episode 1 with the zombies was hard enough.. but in VR it seems impossible.
Stankengine 21 feb, 2022 @ 17:09
Scariest 15 minutes of a game you'll play
Spicy 5 feb, 2022 @ 6:41

WazaMonster 31 jan, 2022 @ 13:02
Really nice and intense map! thanks a lot sir
Starpilot3000 20 dec, 2021 @ 20:33
This was absolutely the most terrified I've EVER been in VR. Incredible job!
xltima 17 dec, 2021 @ 4:36
It has potential but it's let down mainly by the flare.

It's very dark which isn't bad, but the flare really doesn't light up enough of the area. And I had to keep putting the flare down to reload, but when it was on the floor I couldn't see anything. I know it's all supposed to make it more scary but it was just more frustrating than anything and I had to stop playing.

Even if you made it pitch black but had the regular flashlight that glues to your hand it'd be great.
Kahvikone 9 dec, 2021 @ 13:41
Very exciting and the atmosphere was great. Would love to see more like this.

really enjoyed having to use the flare while engaging in combat, really tense
R3d 1 14 sep, 2021 @ 15:12
Too short! This concept is great! Please make more maps like this!
Skummeh 11 sep, 2021 @ 14:05
I can confirm that this works perfectly with Merciless Mod, and makes the ending so much more tense! Here's my Merciless run: https://youtu.be/F6BTSE509JI

very athmospheric, really awesome. Much too short :(

Fast paced and fun.
Dothsen 7 aug, 2021 @ 15:47
Great map. Just wish it was a little bit brighter instead of relying on the torch for all the lighting. It did make it have a very cool atmosphere but you really couldn't see the rest of the level very well.
Killzone 28 jul, 2021 @ 0:07
such an amazing map. Took me about 30 minutes on hard but it really puts you to the test. Thank you so much so this experience.
Yveldi 16 maj, 2021 @ 6:36
Easily a masterpiece. I don't get scared easily, but this map slowly increased my paranoia so much that I paused for a good 10 seconds before the final loot because I thought something bad would happen as soon as I touched the ammo . I only have a few very minor complaints and suggestions:

- I think the "balanced for normal" note was unnecessary. It made me think that it'd be nearly impossible to finish this on hard, which made me play on Normal. AFTER finishing the map,I came to the conclusion that my experience was too easy.

- The door of the room where you find the torch could have a more vibrant color to make sure the players get there before going to the dark areas. I was trying to play through the map by avoiding the zombies, and I had to start from the start to realize that there was a door there.

- I think it'd be better to somehow show the players that the zombies in the final fight are not infinitely respawning.

Chako 18 apr, 2021 @ 5:51
Running low on ammo was dreadful, but the way it was distributed about was done perfectly.
FPS Daisuki 16 apr, 2021 @ 21:54
I'm not very good at dark maps, but I managed to clear them because they were short. Thanks!
tenguely 11 apr, 2021 @ 11:19
This is awsome! No gravity gloves so picking up stuff is so more difficult then normal, and with the tension, the darkness and atmosphere. Just WOW. Congrats, superb work.
Bigbad75 6 apr, 2021 @ 2:00
Disableing the gravity gloves mean's I have to phycically croutch the pickup item's, It's compleate BS
Skummeh 24 mar, 2021 @ 18:02
Survival horror perfection. I just wish it was even longer. My run and feedback here: https://youtu.be/mfDWapyfGHI

SludgePuppy 19 mar, 2021 @ 22:09
Holy damn, that was awesome dude! Most terrified I've been in a while especially in the beginning of the flare section. Keep up the good work!
McCree From GameCube 18 mar, 2021 @ 20:39
I loved holding that little flare up like a torch. That ending freakin' got me good.
