I've been unknowingly unsubscribed from all of the comment sections of my mods.. I don't remember doing that. I'll try to respond quickly to future posts even though the mods are old.. because.. why not?

Cosmetic. I could've added some sort've spell that would've called down shots, but I got too busy.

Will it kill everyone in the direction its pointed at? Or is it just cosmetic?

Just a small note, I've noticed that if you take the portable spell of it, and go to the temple right before you go to fight Alduin, using it will crash the game if you aim it down a certain corridor.
I don't know if its a loading thing or what but the spell is so powerful it just crashes the game in that one spot. At least for me lol

a more portable version would be cool as you can keep anyone hostage at any time

to add onto that: the ray would come with a targetting system, to lock onto anyone in the world with a scope of what they're doing at the time displayed on a screen, you can search for targets with skyUI, and dessimate their towns into a desolate gray soul-cairn-like husk of what it was originally, by waiting for them to go indoors.

I have a suggestion for a new war machine desigm, a laser that can give life to any NPC in the entire lands of skyrim OR morrowwind, or suck it straight out of them until they become a lifeless invincible zombie, if they are indoors it'll also suck the liveliness out of their home and surrounding area and give it a soul cairn like vibe, the machine will then drop "life essence" cores, which are glass containers *count as potions) with glowing red, green, and blue spheres inside, you can keep them in the reserve so you can give back life force to the NPC you stole it from, use it to fully restore your stamina, magicka, or health and increase it permanantly by 50 points, be warned if you use all of someones life focre the damagees caused are irreversale!

reminiscent of the massive Railway artillery pieces in the second world war, or the huge battleship cannons.... epic mod but so many problems

hey man, love the idea, it would be really cool if it was heavily guarded as well (ie tamed saber tooth tigers, trolls,ect). also if the attitude of the world changes as well, like constant talk about the end of the world. and if the mood of the imperial gaurds changes through the player's alliance (if the player follows imperial, they are friendly. if the player is stormcloak, they are hostile on sight and alarms will be set off. if you are neutral, they warn you to get back and will become hostile if the player passes a certain point). it also would be amazing if you could target either solitude or windhelm, it would destroy most of the city to where if you go in them there would be burning and breaking buildings, blocks and burned corpses will be on the ground, there will be less citizens and soldiers, and they would all be depressed (but if citizens and soldiers who take part on any quests or are from different mods will all still be there and the quests would still be advailable)

Holy balls of plasma! I fired off 3 of these at tough enemy group in Old Arrow Knee mod. THey are hard hitters...this wiped em. The ragdolled out of sight, only found 3 of em floating. Out of 20 or so. For anyone wondering, open the chest and it grants a spell 'Destroy Skyrim'. Use with caution.

It was just a thought, I perhaps it is someting to aim for at some point in time.

You can have this mod, edit it so that it does do that and reupload it as yours if that makes you feel any better.

Its totally possible i just never got around to it. I tend to stay busy with work or other projects. It kills me soul that i cant mod skyrim like I used to. grr.

I wonder if it is possible to make some kind of way where the cannon can be called for support similar to the fallout New Vegas enclave commander with air support?
