Anybody know how to build/upgrade the Capitol building? I have one captured from Constantinople saying it requires 20k urban pop and am about to unlock the 3rd and 4th level via tech. But i don't see it in the build menu. (I am Naples->Two Sicily and would like an african capitol)

The new 2.6.5 build planner seems far less intuitive than the old one where you just set a monthly stipend to the build fund and it auto-built useful stuff for you. In 3.0 the province selector works very well but it just isn't to par in 2.6.

They are effectively different games.

M&T 3 is to M&T 2 as M&T 2 is to Vanilla EU4.

That is to say, M&T 3 is a much deeper economic simulator at the cost of being more opaque.

They are both enjoyable, Go watch some Count Cristo videos if you want an introduction to M&T 3.

The game becomes unplayable mid-late game as for no reason, if you have a global empire, rebels start spawning and the keep spawning non stop. It's not a threat to you. It's just extremely annoying and makes me quit. Can you please replace tiny rebels with some kind of province malus?

This iteration of MEIOU and Taxes has just received an update, but it's still for the EU4 v.1.29.6

1. Go to Steam library, right click Europa Universalis 4

2. Click Property (at the bottom)

3. Click the BETAS tab

There's an additional hurdle if you want to access a patch older than 1.27 but if you just want to play this mod, no need.
Hopefully Gigau sees the desire for this to be kept up to date

Is there a way of turning off the constant smoke coming from EVERY city on the map??? Only cities under siege should show smoke. Please it ruins the game imo,

Is it possble to reintroduce the at peace requirements for nation formation into the mission trees that tag switch nations into others because it seems to break wars such as restoration of union as i just found out by not being able to enforce the union on castile because it suddenly became spain midwar?

OK makes sense, thanks for the info. Wish I hadn't started a campaign and then had steam auto update it when I was at 1550, but I'll just make a new one with the knowledge policies don't exist. Had been concerned some other mod had randomly enabled somehow that I couldn't see.

Policies were substituted with (nerfed) base country values, those yearly centralization and stab cost modifiers still exist, you just don't need to pick the same three policies at the start of every game. Regarding old saves, assume they are not compatible. While I haven't specifically tested them, it's always a good idea to start a new campaign after an update. Though if those "certain events" are related to interactions with estates, there's a decision to fix them (happens if you console tag switch to a country previously controlled by an AI). The decision is called "Tag switch fix", but if you don't see it then it's not the cause.

Yesterday's update broke my game and old saves. Policies don't exist and certain events are happening too quickly, and while the latter might be just me misremembering the mod, the policies are definitely borked. I am running zero other mods alongside.

2.6 won't be updated to the newest eu4 version, but there will still be a couple of maintenance updates fixing bugs and things like that. Updating v2 to 1.35 is too much work for me, and it involves dealing with UI which I can't/won't do.

i think my biggest issue with meiou 2.6 rn is that it uns on eu 4 version 1.29.6 wich has a bug that the ai takes too much ae and gets huge coalitions making allying them pretty annoying.

Sadly I have to agree. I keep having to revert patch when I want to play MEIOU because 3.0 is a horrible mod. Its impossible to understand, uninteractive, unfun. I guess its fun as an observer mode experiment but certainly not fun to play. Instead of enhancing what they built on 2.0 they removed it all and tried to build a new game that was superior to victoria 3 but with a 10 year old game and IU. Terrible experiment. I hope they reverse shit although I suspect not given how EU5 is around the cornern. I just hope they dont make the same mistake in EU5 and the mod in EU5 is more like Meiou 2.6 andnot 3.0.

3.0 is far worse than 2.6 in almost every aspect. Less realistic, less challenging, less fun, less historical, less immersive. Not to mention terrible interface and absence of good submods (Like HIM).
2.6 with Historical Immersion mod still rules. Shame this mod not getting any updates.

3.0 is too complicated for me, its no so much the complexity as it is the UI and everything being done via events i just cant handle it.

Is this version of the mod going to be updated, now that 3.0. is out?
Don't get me wrong, I can see that mod developers really put an incerdible ton of work into 3.0., and I appreciate that. But the new economic system in 3.0. just isn't enjoyable to me. But there were many other changes related to other stuff like culture conversion that I liked, is there any chance we will see some improvements to this version of the mod as well? Or is it going to just stay as 2.60. forever? :(

I had 3.0 installed but downgraded to this one in order to use a sudmod. It crashes immediately. It seems to be a problem when downgrading versions. Should I still delete the files from the Paradox folder?

@MERCINOSO Looks like it's hardcoded. You need "a neighbor having embraced some institution, with an adjacent core province" to reform, and said neighor would most likely be a colonial nation, which is a republic. So you end up reforming into a republic yourself.

Inti religion reform seems to be broken - I formed the Inca Empire, I painfully implemented all five reforms, and when I hit "reform religion" button, my country changes to a republic! Is there any way to fix this?

Both of you, try going to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV and deleting everything from that folder except for "mod" and "save games" subfolders. Make a backup first though. Something about downgrading EU4 to 1.29.6 from the latest versions seems to be causing a crash, at least as far as I can tell.

Same here as @Ozymandias, crashing immediately on selecting a country and starting the game. This includes attempting on a fresh install (of the mod and base game), running 1.29.6. Anyone else experience this and have a fix that works for them? Are there log files I can look through?

The send runners button was disabled as it was bugged. Also it never improved CE, only let you update it faster.
