I turn off the radar... it deletes the GPS markers, I reduce the range after doing an active scan, it deletes the GPS markers, I got to edit a GPS marker... it deletes the GPS markers. Makes using it for scouting asteroids... infuriating.

@j_south While that would be nice, it could also clutter a bit, I personally find copying the gps from the screen text and putting just what I want in my gps pasting from the clipboard to work well enough.

Can we get an add on, that passes the GPS Coordinates the radar detects to the GPS, list so you can then use that radar to detect an object and then jump to it.

The mod appears to be working fine on my end, the active/passive scanning is done when the range is over 10k.

I do not have the option to swich to active scanning and i cant scroll down far enoug to select the lcd screen.

forgot to add the scan ability. Had it pop up in an inspection like once and then vanish back into the warp and not be readable by the program blocks - ScanAction: Scan

Does this have a Programming Block API? Or is the only way to get data out of it is through an intermediary LCD?

Curious to the switches for omit and selecting an lcd. On nexus server, and find the restarts and server jumping messes with the settings.

Would script an auto correct but can’t seem to find the properties I need

Is this working? Unsure if im doing something wrong. Mod works and sends GPS for scanned objects but I can not for the life of me get it working with an LCD or any sort of screen so i can easily see results on screen. Help plz!

I really love your version of this mod. It works really good for my server even the lcd. The original mod you built this off of has been updated recently. I think most of the update was just performance ,bug fixes but the new version does have sound. You can add a sound block to play a sound when something is detected. Would you be interested in updating this with sound or updating it with the new version of the mod you built it off of. I could make it worth your while. If not would you let me try and update it. I would still list you as the original maker and i was just updating it. Im not interested in doing it or claiming it, i just want to use it on my server. The server is tailored to the visually impaired and id really like to have the sound. If its beyond me to update i do have friends that can.

I wana love it but .. Fresh game testing.. admin creative in survival, I can't make it do anything in the slightest. Your description is a little unclear as well. :3 I was hoping to detect ships so that i could have a way to locate without a game HUD.

I believe you can, its a script for grids to fully "talk" to each other

not only that but also the newest DLC can to a limited degree as was seen in the trailer of it.

It would be awesome if this could be setup to broadcast its map points to faction antennas/laser antennas. then in a war scenario you could have a radar station or satilite that broadcasts what it sees to your team. Sure the enemy can try to hit the radar but they may have to fight for it in the air

I can’t get it to display on the LCD. Any sort of configuration the LCD needs to be in? I’ve tried grinding the radar down and replacing

yes it works with weapons core, incidentally also with the lcd's if possible could the active scan counter or somethng be cast to them while it's running, even just center printing scanning would indicate it's working rather than a blank screen.

If you grind down the radar and replace it the lcd's will show up again, though o occasion it looses the ability to see them. I was just about to report as much.

How does masking against a RADAR return work? Can I hide my location if the grid I'm in turns off power and antenna? Or if I'm behind something large enough to break line of site on an active scan (like a large asteroid)?

@SilentFur These are the names of 2 possible things your asking about. Holographic Radar by DraygoKorvan, Projector Preview - miniature blueprint display + damage status by Digi. The former has a custom radar dish and projector table the latter uses the vanilla projector table and just gives it more options.

Name an LCD with Radar in the name. Goto the Radar and scroll down to the section that shows what Screen to display it on. Select the LCD that you renamed with Radar in it's name.

I have not run into that issue. But, If you Scan with the Radar and it's Broadcast range is greater then 10km then you will run into lag for a few moments as it detects everything out there.

Game crashes when I hit the "scan" button. I'm using on (AaW) Easy Base Start world.
Not sure what is causing this. It's crashed twice so far. Radar is in active mode, set at 20,000.

If someone updates this, post a link, but on a side note, I think there is no reason to require actively scanned radar in such space environments.

A passive radar extension to the ModAPI would be nice, as most electronics running on SE ships, like lighting, display panels, transformers, non-linear logic circuitry, propulsion, propulsion ionized gas trails, power generation, electrostatically charged craft moving through field lines, interactions with solar wind, etc all produce huge amounts of detectable EMF which travels through empty space nearly unimpeded. In principle you could detect most devices running on an SE ship if they were only in LOS (Line of Sight), and you can even use reflections off asteroids to estimate an SE ship's position beyond LOS and around obstructions and atmospheres.

The distance value is nearly completely negligible with modern CLNAs (Cryogenic Low Noise Amplifiers) made from vacuum isolated copper or silver, superconducting wave-guides, dielectric resonant chambers, or even bolometers. All of these don't need cooling while in space, only shading and protection from radiative heating, which is easy to do with common or high quality radome materials.

The passive radar mechanic could be structured to work unless the player uses the survival paint gun mod to paint their exposed exterior blocks with a number of conductive and inductive nano-particle based paints, or using special sub-structure macro geometries, or more advanced meta-materials with non-linear frequency responses and asymmetric properties.

This would add a rather large set of features to the gameplay and a lot of strategic changes, so I don't realistically expect it to happen, but in all realities, there is absolutely no need for active radar in an environment like this.

so the server I play on every time the server restarts the lcd screen option goes back to [select an LCD]. is there anyway to have you go back to the same LCD screen every time?

I have noticed that the coords from the radar are not pin point accurate, it gave me a location and only 3km away there was something.. is that working as intended ?
