I have a book called "The Living Book" in my inventory that says to bring it to the temple of the nine in Solitude and talk to the high preist to help their spirit exit the book. I've tried to activate dialogue and even pickpocketed the book into the high preist in the temple of the divines in Solitude, but to no avail. Is the book supposed to start a quest or is the book simply for collecting? There's also a few books where no words show up at all except fot the first letter of each page.

I actually got hooked on reading these stories while playing Oblivion and I have a Mod that adds the Oblivion books, so I know I am going to love these. Have you thought of reviewing some of the stories in Oblivion and continuing the story lines? Would you be interested in an outline for a story line idea? You may get more fans to help fill in some of your unfinished books.:) Not all of us are great writers or have enough time, but I am sure there are adventures in their heads they would like to play out, share and/or read about.

I'm not sure if you put this book in this mod but you could make "The Necronomicon" which is the book of the dead. It's bound in human skin and usually is depicted with the human face on the cover. It's not in the elder scrolls series but it's sort of a myth or legend irl.

Just thought it would be cool to have that in there.

This mod has been left alone for quite some time, few are finished, with no new content added to lots of the books for a while, anyone willing and able to take this project on I can hand over the reigns :)

So far the Solitude book shows up with nothing but a capital "S" on the inside and another, I think Whiterun, contains a few lines on the top of each page and then a capital letter on the last three pages. Is thiis right? I am assuming that there is either a created encoded message or my subscription just didn't download properly. I'm keeping the mod nevertheless. Great job.

the covers i used here are skins from the creation kit itsself, you need to convert other files to the right format to import them, it's pretty easy. I'll add you and we can PM and I'll be happy to advise.

I'm totally up for it!! I'm rather excited about it now! Just shoot me a note on how to get started. Like I mentioned before I've only opened the CK and looked. Never tried to do anything in there. Are there any "tuts" out there on how to use it? I could read a couple to get a general feel for it. I found a book today while finally getting around to the Blood Ninroot. I believe it was called "Secrets of An Assassin" by Astrid. I laughed when I saw the pages were all blank! LOL Shoot me a note darlin'! *HUGS* Ciao! ♥

I think it would be cool to have a book for all the Daedra and Aedra but, that's me. Sure the mad one and the Dark Mother have theirs in vanilla but, when it comes to Hircine or Nocturnal the book field seems lacking. The Aedra are pretty much left with Gods and Worship or Aedra and Daedra in the standard model. In Dawnguard you have to ask yourself where the heck did X get their knowledge of Auriel's Bow or much of anything else about Auriel? As far as Nocturnal the nightingales' symbol would be appropriate.

Please do.. I'll be happy to let you in as admin on this one. It was like a mod from my first week of modding, i get some complaints on the covers sometimes. Writing the books can be tricky, you can't copy paste so it's all re-type, a sinch for you ;) and you have to use a little scripting to make the capitals all frilly, I have left the script in there already for that so it'll just be a case of exchanging the first letter of the paragraph. If you're still up for it your in ;)

I wouldn't mind writing a couple of books for ya! I've published a couple of things years ago and go really good reviews. Note me with details and I'll see if I can help ya'll out! We are working on the books some have stories others don't at the moment, we are working on writing them all but unfortunately we are both quite busy. None of the books replace anything else and they should be compatable with every other mod that exists.

@Kabuto93 copy paste works into the description but not the book text, I've just been back and tried again. If only it would copy paste. I have no idea why it won't makes no sense.
@Hunter99 mostly for astetics yes, I'm getting into producing collectable items, I've had a little help on book content but half of them are still to be written as i recall. will get back to it as soon as life permits.

Can you get these books without becoming a thief and stealing them? Because the consol command won't give me a extra book so they can keep it and I keep one.

are these just decor or do they actually serve a 'higher purpose"

Hi, it's been a while since I last checked on this page. I sort of forgot to check... Why can't you paste in a book's text? I messed around with the Creation Kit and it seemed easy enough, you just can't copy/paste the first letter or title page. I have no experience with this, so it's very possible I'm overlooking something simple.

Some of those books look like they'd explode if you tried to read them.

More books would be the only thing i could say would be better or maybe different styles like books written on bones or leaves or things of a odd nature.

I'm afraid that they currently don't give misions.
Alot of them are unwitten, but they have titles and some Good spitited players and modders are ready to collaborate and write some, so the content should improve soon.
For now they are mostly collectable for their uniquenesses.

Good question, I've spread them out and don't rightly remember, I'm away at a wedding ast the moment but if yoiu PM me i can give you a list when i get home. There's one on the safe in the arch mages room. none in any dwemer ruins. one next to the annoying preacher in whiterun, the other end from where things are usually left in mods. I think theres one near every Jarl. some in bars..
