Also, k@rt, I don't know why it wouldn't work for you on versus, as when me and my friend tried it, it worked fine. I'll try to look into it some more.
As a general peice of advice regarding sound; complex and higher pitched sounds tend to get lost under the ambient sound of the game, what comes accross best is the simplier, bassier stuff like the riffs, so I would concentrate on including more riffs and less vocals/solos.
The best would be to use a waveform editor to edit the tracks down and or create complitaions - a full song is normally going to be too long anyway.
