ichabod the tardigrade - I'm pretty sure it does still work. It's often difficult to position so that all Auto-miners function at once, though. And won't work on sloped terrain.

@dragonfire75 - It's a simple tech for sure. But I saw a few people having major trouble putting it together the right way around, and installing them - hence the snapshot share and video.

The resource seams should all provide 1000 chunks each. So not infinite (unless devs have *just* changed this - unlikely). With all 4 Auto-miners running correctly it should take just over 2 hours to deplete a seam. Check it out. :-)

practically, auto-harvesters are the best way to get infinite recource, because they go on forever and the recource pockets never run out, so practically its easy money as long as you got one
well, it was infinite for me on some... uh... crimson stuff(forgot name of it), is it not?

also, its just a cab attached to 4 harvesters, and you really dont need the cab so its just 4 harvesters connected to eachother

I gave it a quick test (in Creative, on a grasslands Erudite seam) and saw no issue.

I've followed instructions, and tried it on completely flat ground. All stems were planted, and pretty much touching the seam. None of them turn on. Gotta place it manually. If any of them are connected, they're not workin.

@Night_Rage - you need to check that each of the auto-miner's anchor stalks are deployed, and rotate it around a bit if not. May not be possible on sloped terrain. This, in addition to following the instructions on moving it to find the true centre of the seam (not quite where it often looks like it is).

Hmm.. I cant seem to get them to work if i just spawn it in, and anchor them right ontop of it. None of them turn on, I have to individually place them, which sometimes i cant get the 4th one to work. Dunno if they fixed it or what. Still very useful when it worked, and i use the Selling base a lot. lol

@jani098 - Crafty Mike gives you an auto-miner in mission "Crafty Business IV", then you need to buy or make a couple more.

@ Sakuranomiya Maika - sorry, they patched that bug/trick by updating the tech anchoring physics. Check out 0.7.9 where it no longer works. Have to plan for longer term mining bases now. Well, at least 2 hours. ;-)
