Is there a way to only spawn random weapons, but not spawn grenades? There are maps where random weapons always spawn, but not grenades.

If they are TTT weapons and they're visible in sandbox while using the weapon placer, then yes they will be included in the rearm script as if you had placed them. If you don't want them to be in there you will have to delete them (there's the button to delete all of them which you could use when starting).

unsure if you still reply to comments here, but-
i've noticed that when loading some maps the weapons that they already have will be visible. is it recommended to delete these to prevent duplicates? as the weapons that are already on the map are also saved into the rearm script

Not with random ammo spawns you place. The only way to do something like that is by editing the rearm script to add "auto ammo" options to the relevant weapon. This is explained in more detail in the rearm guide on the TTT site (linked in the description above).

By the way you shouldn't rename the original gmod files, because after an update they will be restored

That way you don't have to rename the maps and neither do you have to remove the presets

The best way is to create an addon that goes to sampletext\gamemodes\terrortown\content\maps and then put the mapname_ttt.txt's there for the official cs:s maps only

@Necro Oh, I wonder if gmod has changed the order in which it loads these things since the guide was written. The guide (and the addon) is pretty old at this point.

The workarounds I can think of off the top of my head are a bit ugly (telling people to rename the included rearm script, or to rename the map). Let me know if there's a better one and I'll update the guide. For now I'll at least put in a note about the issue.

Your guide does not work on official cs:s maps, because "your" replacements in gamemodes\terrortown\content\maps always come first over my replacements in garrysmod\maps

I have TFA Weapons installed and in some maps (ph_apartments, ttt_camel_v1) TFA weapons and other weapons spawn normally. But most maps dont spawn the map and give this error

@Z3roP4nicz: it works fine, you're trying to use it in multiplayer which will not work. As the description says, this tool is singleplayer-only .

Hey Bad King, not sure how to contact you otherwise so I am commenting here ... with your TTT mapping guide, the ttt.fgd download is missing a few lines of code (which has frustrated me for a while now in trying to create maps) ... I found the correct code here https://github.com/Facepunch/garrysmod/blob/master/garrysmod/gamemodes/terrortown/ttt.fgd and just wanted to suggest that you update the file on the website so others don't have similar problems to me! Thanks.

somehow it was still in the addon, even i already deleted the awp files and there weren't any other files wit h"awp" in it in my whole GM folder. deleting it completely helped! thx

There's no silenced AWP in standard TTT, so it sounds like an addon. You could just remove the addon entirely to get rid of it. Alternatively if maps are making it spawn when you only want it as e.g. a traitor weapon, then making rearm scripts for those maps will override their spawns so they'll only contain the guns you want.

ttt_heaven for instance. It even comes with a rearm script and the author hasn't reported any problems on his side. Might just be an addon conflict. Seeing how other people have this problem though it might be a popular addon, even.

It shouldn't matter what the map is for, in fact the main use of the weapon placer is to make non-TTT maps work in TTT.

Can you point me to a map you've had this problem on? I can give it a try myself.

Yea, I checked it out with report_entities and the spawn entities appear but it simply ignores them and gives me a rigged spawn at 0, 0, 0.

The thing is, I'm trying this on non-TTT maps. Do the spawn entities work at all unless it's a map made for TTT?

I just tested the entire process from placing player spawns and weapons, to putting the saved rearm script in the maps folder, to loading the rearmed map in TTT. It all works fine.

The only issue I know of is that on some maps, placing player spawns won't work in certain areas. Usually you can still place them in a different area and then carry them to where you want them using the physgun.

When it comes to adding in things you cannot normally place, I find it possible by editing the text file the tool generates, since it is only a list of entities to add to the map at the start of each round.

How do I import modded weapons into this mod so that I can place modded weapons to be picked up? Is it even possible?
