Version 2.2.1 seeks to fix some of the issues remaining after the update for Starbound 1.3, and add some minor new content too. The full changelog is as follows:

-Fixed Elithian mechanic and engineer crewmates using outdated crew benefits. Your crew should now function correctly again, and recruitment should work properly again as well.
-Fixed Bubble Shield and Force Shield augments providing 100% damage reduction when combined with some types of armour. These augments have now been given completely new behaviours, to replace the old static defence bonus.
-Bubble Shield augments now provide damage absorption. When equipping an EPP with the Bubble Shield augment, a shield will start to build up around you. Once fully charged, the shield will protect you from a set amount of damage before breaking, after which it will slowly recharge. A damaged shield will regain health over time if no damage has been taken for a few seconds. Higher level augments have a higher maximum shield health.
-Force Shield augments now provide minor damage absorption on a hit, but break immediately regardless of how much damage was taken. When a Force Shield breaks, it will push away all enemies and projectiles near you, and will push away additional projectiles during a short grace period. Higher level augments recharge faster.
