LATEST UPDATE: 08/24/2016
  • Rebalanced the cost of all ship classes so the costs make sense relative to the ship size. Some costs have been decreased while others increased for best balance. See the list below for details.
  • Ship sections for the new classes (not the vanilla ships) now cost 0 and the ships themselves have a single base cost.
  • Mining Bases and Power Stations completely rewritten and balanced better. IMPORTANT: See the Readme for details on the changes, they are very different now.
NOTE: The localisation file has been changed in this update. Language translations will need to be updated to include the new text.

This list shows the new changes in the base costs of each ship before you add any weapons or components. The lists below reflect no change in cost, a decrease in cost, and an increase in cost.

Bugfix Update - Fixed alignment issues on the Fleet Support Ship for some races

  • NEW SHIP CLASS: Fleet Support Ship - A large, slow, and expensive mobile repair ship to help repair fleets on the front line. Make sure you protect it!
  • We have found a way to prevent problems with vanilla coding, so we have changed the name of the Escort to "Frigate" due to popular demand.
  • Changed the fleet formations so that ships aren't crowded so close together while flying.
  • Reduced the damage output of the Science Cruiser Automated Defense System for balance.
  • Science Cruiser changed to a non-rare tech so it shows up for research sooner.
  • Fixed some bugs where some stations were not deducting their mineral cost when built.
  • Fixed a bug where Frigate sections were not being properly shown in the ship designer.
  • Fixed the mod code so Plantoid particles and such are now displayed correctly on the ships.
  • Fixed the code for the new Plantoid ships so they fit together better.

  • Updated the mod code to be compatible with the 1.2.3 patch and to fix the problem with crashes.
  • MOD UPDATED FOR PLANTOID DLC: The new ship classes should now be available and working properly for those who have the new Plantoid DLC.
  • Added completely new ship class icons for the system view. These new ones should be easier to understand than the haphazard diamonds that were used before.
  • The Headquarters Station has now been changed to a military ship class, to fix the issues with the AI building too many. This makes some big changes to the station. See below for more details.
  • Restored the weapons on the Battle Fortress to the way they were before. To heck with balance on this one, I want my Battle Fortress :)
  • Reduced the Hangar section on large stations from 6 bays to 4, and on small and medium stations from 4 bays to 2, for balance.
  • Added an additional medium gun to the Sensor Station to help it with defense.
  • Increased EWAR sensor range from 150 to 200.
  • Removed combat speed limitations from all ships for those using Rangefinder. Ships should now travel at their normal speed both in and out of combat. (No more waiting 10 minutes for ships to get within range of each other.)
  • Added in all of the previously removed sections for the light carrier, to allow free design.
  • Balanced out some of the weaker ship sections by adding extra utility slots.
  • Removed one aura slot from the Flagship for balance.

  • COMPLETE SHIP REDESIGN: All ship classes have been redesigned from the ground up. We've attemped to balance everything as much as possible.
  • NEW 4-SECTION Battlecruiser!
  • NEW 4-SECTION Light Carrier!
  • NEW 4-SECTION Carrier!
  • NEW 4-SECTION Dreadnought!
  • NEW 5-SECTION Flagship!
  • NEW SHIP TYPE: Swarm ships now available to choose in the empire designer.
  • Updated all of the new ship types to access the new sections and weapons loadout.
  • Added a new icon for the Spaceport Customs Office (Special Thanks to "Will pick sniper" for the icon!)
  • The Science & Technology Center research bonus has been reduced from 25% to 20% (This is final - we're not changing it again).
  • Changed the Automatic Ship Repair System to only repair 30% of damage each month instead of 100% (to prevent the invincibility bug).
  • Added AI code to (hopefully) prevent the AI from overbuilding some stations.

Bugfix Update

  • Removed the Armed Transport ship class. The game does not treat this ship properly and it causes some major bugs related to armies that I can't fix.
  • Changed the Governor's Mansion to generate only 1 influence instead of 2.
  • Changed the Science & Technology Center to only add 2 extra research options instead of 4 for balance.
  • Fixed some missing icons.
  • Fixed various text bugs reported by users.
