Features:

  • Added the Ancestral Genetics ascension perk for Hive mind empires which, when leaders die, they pass on a portion of their total experience to another leader. Also provides a stacking unity bonus that scales as time goes on.
  • Added the Infinite Architecture ascension perk for machine empires which grants access to a building that increases local empire sprawl from pops, but increases pop assembly speed and adds amenities. Planetary designations also provide additional benefits based on the number of buildings on a planet.

Features:

  • Added a mod menu that opens at the beginning of the game with some customisation settings for the crisis, including:
  • Disabling the crisis.
  • Allowing Gestalt empires to activate the crisis.
  • Allowing you to naturally roll the Quantanium Synthesization technology required to initiate the crisis.
  • A extra crisis power setting.
  • Also added a 'Hard Mode' which increases the strength of the crisis and makes it progress a bit quicker. Hard mode is enabled in the aforementioned mod menu.

Bugs:
  • Fixed gun turrets on special ship sections graphically stacking on top of each other as suggested by Emrakul.
  • Some mild localisation fixes.

SOLAR STORM UPDATE 2:
This marks the greatest patch since the original release. It finally completes the Abyssal Secrets crisis to the standard of my original vision and addresses some recent bugs. See the 'Thanks and Next Steps' discussion for more! This patch may unfortunately make saves currently in the middle of the crisis operate as not intended, apologies in advance. However, existing saves yet to activate the crisis should be unaffected. Warning: there are a number of spoilers in these patch notes for those yet to activate the crisis for the first time.

Features:
  • You can now complete the Father's vision. The Galaxy must be reforged from the ground up. In the event you side with the Father, you can progress his plan to completion; the end of the galaxy as we know it.
  • The Fallen Empire will now eventually awaken if you continually ignore their warnings.
  • A custom portrait for the Father based on the Unbidden Portrait.
  • You now get a relic for defeating the crisis.
  • Your subjects (vassals, protectorates, etc.) will now also join The Father's side if you do.
  • Slightly buffed the strength of the Abyssal Host
  • Many improvements and additions to system graphics.
  • Many more situational dialog lines and opportunities for interactions.

Bugs:
  • The Abyssal Envoys now show up in Contacts.
  • Fixed some rare scenarios which may cause continuity issues in the crisis.
  • Fixed authoritarian empires not having the leader replaced when signing the pact.
  • Fixed the Abyssal Manifestation not attacking your ships.
  • Fixed Bob Vanus' report, the Network Nodes ascension perk now works for the intended capital buildings.
  • Fixed a number of grammar/spelling mistakes.

Bugs:

  • Finally fixed the bug that causes the Mars Project Flagship to not appear when completing the construction project.

This bug fix has changed how this mod interacts with the Extra Ship Component compatibility patches. Please place the compatibility patches lower in the mod load order than the base Solar Storm Mod.

Bugs:

  • Fixed a bug reported by Cyberforte; The Pacifist Diplomacy ascension perk no longer gives you free non-agression pacts, but now no longer overwrites base game files and is now compatible with other diplomacy mods.
  • Fixed a bug reported by Cyberforte; You no longer get improved Corvette bomber sections at the start of the game (they are intended to belong to the Naval Capability Ascension Perk).
  • Fixed some rare scenarios which may cause the crisis event chain to suddenly stop.

Features:
  • Added a number of small improvements to the crisis
  • Added and changed some localisation for better immersion.
  • Added and changed some graphical effects.

A larger update adding more content to the Crisis is coming, ETA is early January.

  • Nerfed pacifist diplomacy: now the movement speed penalty only applies for 1 year at the beginning of the war and only applies a 60% sublight speed penalty.
  • Added a compatibility patch for Extra Ship Components NEXT by NHunter

Bugs:
  • Fixed the description of the Uniformity ascension perk describing features it did not possess.
  • Fixed the Free Market ascension perk decision not giving you resources or giving too much resources when selling off districts.
  • Updated compatibility for Extra Ship Components NEXT.
