Features
By popular demand:
  • Extended Vision: NPCs can see farther in front of them.
  • Sound Detection: When something makes a sound, NPCs will investigate it. They will respond more urgently to louder noises.
  • saii_defaultsonly convar: If enabled, SAII will only affect the Half-Life 2 AI (more specifically, NPCs derived from base_ai).

  • Fixed NPCs attempting to idle reload with a weapon that doesn't require ammo.
  • Minor optimization updates.

Additions
  • NPCs will now alert nearby allies after identifying a target.
  • Instead of running to cover, NPCs will run in a random direction when alerted, resulting in less glitchy behavior.
  • NPCs will now time their reloads more efficiently.
    • When idle, they will reload if their weapon is below maximum capacity.
    • When alert, they will only reload if their weapon's clip is 75% full or less.
  • New convars:
    • saii_help_enabled: If enabled, NPCs will summon their friends upon spotting an enemy.
    • saii_help_radius: Upon spotting an enemy, NPCs will call their friends within this radius to their position.
    • saii_debugprints: If enabled, SAII will print statements to the console for debugging. Does nothing functionally (apart from spamming the console).
Fixes
  • Fixed weapon proficiency.
  • Bullet detection is now less glitchy.
  • Fixed bullet detection working to a degree even if its convars are turned off.
  • NPCs no longer stand still when there is no cover nearby.
  • Attempted to reduce crashing.
