Palace of the Republic - Berlin, East Germany

Описание
A small piece of Cold War architecture. Here is the Palace of the Republic from East Berlin, East Germany (German Democratic Republic). This facility was the seat of the GDR Government from 1976 until the reunification of Germany in 1990. Like many buildings of its time this place was filled with Asbestos requiring the facility to be closed while the asbestos was removed. In the end the building was torn down with demolition starting in 2006 and ending in 2008 much to the displeasure of East German residents.

UPDATE: Updated with new model and textures.

Cost to build: $75,000
Upkeep: $1,200
Size: 18x10
Level 3 Monument

Truly angering that it was torn down, it was such a beautiful and amazing building and I never got to see it. Thanks for bringing it here though, I love this socialist style so being able to use it here is always great <3 <3

A wonderful building that they shamefully tore down. Will use this in my government areas in my cities. Thank you!

Nice to have in the city but it was one hideous eyesore in reality. Glad it was demolished.

$7500 upkeep. Too expenseve to use in a city.

I am glad they replaced this memorial of German defeat and Soviet-Communist victory with a reconstruction of something purely German, something that fits in with its neo-classic surroundings.
