T.E.C.H. Skills Guide

  • To develop a T.E.C.H you must go to the Ark -> T.E.C.H -> Develop, it's the only way to obtain a T.E.C.H.

  • Each T.E.C.H can have up to two T.E.C.H skills.

  • There are four T.E.C.H tiers, first two enabled initially. To obtain the ability to develop 3rd and 4th tier T.E.C.H you must complete Commander and Magnus difficulties respectively. Developing cost varies depending on tier:

  • Developing is a gambling mini-game where you have to stop a pointer in a correct position in order to craft a skill with better stats/attributes. Pointer moves faster with each tier making it harder to pin down in a correct position. Your goal is to stop a pointer in an orange/blue areas avoiding the dark-blue. Orange always produces legendary T.E.C.Hs although they'll not necessarily be better than the blue ones regarding stat-quality, at least not always. Dark-blue T.E.C.Hs will be considered a failure with inferior stats. As a result you'll receive a T.E.C.H with one or two T.E.C.H skills on it with random stats.

  • Stat-quality varies depending on a T.E.C.H tier, but only high-tier T.E.C.Hs could be developed with best possible attributes therefore it would be wise to complete Magnus difficulty as soon as possible and start gambling for highest tier T.E.C.Hs.

  • There're four type of T.E.C.Hs:

Attack T.E.C.H, mainly includes various attack-stat bonuses.

Defense T.E.C.H which provides defense bonuses.

Augment T.E.C.H which will add various useful perks.

Another Augment T.E.C.H which offers variety of farming skills.

  • Some T.E.C.H skills are restricted to appear in only one type of T.E.C.H, for example: you'll never develop an Attack T.E.C.H with farming skills on it.

  • Maximum number of T.E.C.H slots varies depending on a character:
    Optimus Prime: 6 slots.
    Bumblebee: 4 slots.
    Sideswipe: 4 slots.
    Wheeljack: 4 slots.
    Grimlock: 2 slots.
To unlock T.E.C.H slots level up RNK stat of each character.

  • T.E.C.H skills DO stack unless stated otherwise in this guide.

  • Total number of T.E.C.H skills available is 40.

+30%
Boosts attack of your guns, extremely useful.

Overdrive Builds faster
+100%
This skill lets you build Overdrive really quick.

You'll be able to use your ultimate attack much more often, really useful even if you didn't invest anything else into you UA-power.

Increases rare weapon drop rate
+100%
Farming skill, etremely useful while farming Prime difficulty campaign/challenges for powerful weapons.
EXTRA CREDITS
Increases the amount of credits acquired

ULTIMATE MOVE ATTACK UP
Increases power of Ultimate Attacks
+30%
Pretty straightforward, stack it up and turn your foes into scrap with a single UA.
MAX DODGE UP
Increases number of times you can dodge in a row
LVL. 3
Gives an additional dodge per skill level before going into recovery animation, useful on harder difficulties. Doesn't stack.
ENHANCED DODGE
Increases invincibility length when dodging
LVL. 10
Increases the number of active frames on your dodge, proven to be useful in gangbang situations on Magnus/Prime difficulties. Doesn't seem to stack.
RUSH ATTACK UP
Increases power of Rush Attacks
+30%
Enhances Rush Attacks, works well in conjunction with MELEE ATTACK UP skill.
GRAPPLE POWER UP
Increases power of grapples
+30%
Grimlock exclusive skill, if you intend to build a damaging Grimlock - this is a must.
REVERSAL POWER UP
Increases power of reversals

Works best with damaging ranged weapons and in conjunction with RANGED ATTACK UP can take any enemy apart very fast.

MAX HEALTH UP
Increases Max Health
+1000
Could be useful while stacked, it'll take a couple more hits kill you, not so useful on Prime difficulty.
ABILITY GAUGE REC. UP
Increases recovery rate of Ability Gauge
+30%
Helpful if you want to use abilities more often.
VEHICLE ATTACK UP
Increases power of vehicle/dino attacks
+30%
Especially useful for Grimlock since his full scale Dino-mode attacks don't benefit from equipped weapon damage attributes.
DAMAGE DOWN
Decreases damage intake
+10%
Offers extended survivability on harder difficulties while stacked, up to +60% damage reduction on Optimus Prime.

DEFENSE UP
Increases defense
+30%
Only rises defense stat and it's inferior to DAMAGE DOWN in my opinion, stacking still helps survive longer.
VEHICLE SPEED UP
Increases speed in vehicle/dino mode
+30%
Not too hot, but extra mobility always helps eventhough you won't be using vehicle mode all too much during the battle.
WEAPON DROP UP
Increases weapon drop rate
+100%
Farming skill, kinda useless without DROP RARITY UP since you'll just end up with a lot of junk weapons in your inventory.
LEAP DISTANCE UP
Increases the distance of Sideswipe's leap ability
+30%
Obviously a Sideswipe's exclusive skill, good mostly for escaping hairy situations and not much else.
STATUS GUARD
Increases resistance to status effect
+100%
At "+100%" you'll be immune to EVERY status effect, somewhat helpful.

BACK ATTACK UP
Increases power of back attacks
+30%
Too situational to be really useful.
AUTO-RECOVER
Health recovers gradually +5%
+5%
Only useful when stacked and even then it won't probably save you in the long run on harder difficulties, it's better to use weapon skills for increased recovery item drops.
EXTRA EXP
Increases amount of experience gained
+100%
Helps leveling up but the ability to manually level up makes it more like a waste of a skill slot,
use it only if you're too lazy to hold that Y-button down.
HEALTH REC. UP
Increases the amount of health recovers
+30%
Might be helpful but I suggest using weapon skills for increased recovery item drops instead.
ENERGY REC. UP
Increases amount weapon energy recovers
+30%
Like with HEALTH REC. UP it would be wise to just increase the drop rate of energy recovering items with weapon skills instead of wasting a skill slot on this.
ENERGY AUTO-REC.
Weapon energy recover gradually
+5%
An OKAY skill, but you won't run out of ammo most likely anyway and even if you do then it's wise to have at least one weapon with ENDrop+ to satisfy your needs.
VEHICLE DEFENSE UP
Increases defense in vehicle/dino mode
+30%
Probability of them hitting you in a vehicle mode? Right, it probably won't even happen. Kinda useful for Grimlock and his Dino-mode.
ACCELERATION UP
Increases rate at which character accelerates
+10%
Only let's you reach full speed faster and it could be done after a successful dodge/parry anyway so it's kinda of a waste.
FOCUS DURATION UP
Increases Focus length
LVL. 10
Slightly increases Focus duration after successful dodge/parry, not too handy but better than other low-tier skills. Doesn't stack.

ALLY HEAL
Allies recover health when you do
+50%
Apart from "defend X until Y" missions it's really useless.
ENHANCED JUMP
Hold the jump button to temporarily float
LVL. 3
Can't think of any situation where it might be helpful. Doesn't stack.
AUTO-PARRY
Has a certain chance of nullifying damage
+5%
Git gud, boi? Seriously though: wasting a slot on something that could be done manually any time and with greater success rate is not wise.
KNOCKDOWN DEFENSE
Player becomes harder to knockdown
+100%
At "+100%" gives you a boss-like permanent super armor, sounds good on paper but on harder difficulties you'll always die before you even recognize it.
ITEM PULL
Items nearby gravitate towards you
LVL. 3
For those who are too lazy to grab stuff by themselves. Doesn't stack.
ROBOT SPEED UP
Increases speed in robot mode
+10%
Increases ONLY walking speed, doesn't affect attack speed at all and since you won't be walking around much during the battle - completely useless.
ENHANCED RADAR
Shows hidden treasure on the minimap
LVL. 1
A useful perk when you're playing this game for the first time, uncovers all hidden treasure locations on your map, a complete waste of a slot afterwards. Not stackable obviously.
HP OVERFLOW (EXP)
Turns recovery items into exp. when health is full
+100
Makes recovery items sort of useful when your HP is full, but you'd better use EXTRA EXP skill instead if you want to level up or just do it manually.
HP OVERFLOW (CREDITS)
Turns recovery items into credits when health is full
+100
You'll earn much more when using EXTRA CREDITS, so don't bother.
VARIOUS PENALTY SKILLS
Negatively affecting various stats
-50%
Obviously you should avoid any T.E.C.H with such skills.
Weapon Skills Guide

  • Weapon skills can only be acquired through weapon farming and weapon synthesis.

  • Maximum skill level is 5. It is possible to level up skills by combining them through synthesis but there're a lot of restrictions so it would be wise to just save even low quality weapons with a desired level 5 skill to synthesize it with good weapon later on.

  • You can synthesize a maximum of six skills into single weapon, provided it has six slots to keep them. Number of skill slots depends on a weapon, higher tier weapons (A-SS) tend to have more skills slots (4-6). The only way to obtain a weapon with six skill slots is to farm.

  • You can always synthesize new skills into a weapon even if it has a maximum number of skills already and/or is at a maximum level (50).

  • Don't forget to check out the LAB every time you complete a chapter or a challenge mission for a chance to buy a weapon with a necessary skill.

  • The best way to farm weapons and skills is to repeatedly clear challenge missions 49 and 50. Consume all your booster items (credit, exp, drop rate) beforehand for greater results, having equipped a few farming T.E.C.H skills helps just as well.

  • Weapons skills DO stack unless stated otherwise in this guide.

  • Total number of weapon skills available is 35.

Attack Up
Atk+
Increases attack damage by +10%
Very straightforward, works best with high damaging weapons, up to +60% damage.
Critical Rate Up
Crit+
Gives a 25% chance of dealing 1.5 damage
Multiplier is not 2.0 as usual, although it's still pretty powerful. Four of those skills gives you 100% crit-chance, so don't bother adding more than that.
Head Shot Damage Up
HeadShot+
Increases Head Shot damage by 20%
In conjunction with FireRate+ and a good damaging ranged weapon can annihilate almost anything in one reversal.
Rate of Fore Up
FireRate+
Increases firing speed
Significantly increases fire rate even for slow-firing weapons, the only drawback is that it will deplete your ammo supplies in 1-2-3.
Attack Speed Up
AtkSpd+
Increases attack speed
Amount is uncertain but it certainly increases DPS by QUITE A LOT. Also helps building Overdrive much faster.
Synthesis Exp Up
SynExp+
Increases exp gained through synthesizing by 100%
Extremely useful for leveling weapons, if you wish to level up a desired weapon then fuse it with a level 5 SynExp+ beforehand - it will save you thousands of credits.

Cryo+

Could be better better than Atk+ in some cases where weapon has massive elemental damage.
Thermal Attack Up

Increases thermal damage by +10%
See Cryo Attack Up.
Lightning Attack Up
Lightning+
Increases lightning damage by 10%
See Cryo Attack Up.
Energon Attack Up
EngnAtk+
Increases attack relative to remaining energy. 15% bonus max.
Gives a greater damage boost to energon weapons than Atk+, but diminishes when energy falls low. Works better with melee energon weapons since their energy depletes much slower.
Max Energy Up
En+
Increases max weapon energy by 50%
Amazing skill mainly for ranged weapons, adds A LOT of ammo.
Recovery Drop Up
RecDrop+
Increases recovery item drop by 30%
Stack it up on support weapons such as elemental launchers/slow gel gun/soundwave blaster etc. and you're good to go.
Energy Drop Up
ENDrop+
Increases weapon energy recovery item drop by 30%
Better to stack it on support weapons or have at least one such skill on a "ammo-hungry" weapon.

Freeze
Freeze
Has a chance of freezing an enemy when attacking
Effect is good but proc-chance is unfortunately slim, stacking helps but not so much.
Burn

Shock
Shock
Has a chance of inducing shock status when attacking
See Freeze.
Near Death Attack Up
Last+
Attack increases 25% when remaining health is 30% or less
Synergizes well with ALL IN T.E.C.H skill, better for tough boss fights than anything else.
Overdrive Up
Ovrdrv+
Overdrive increases 10% witch every attack
Helps you build Overdrive faster, not at good as the corresponding T.E.C.H skill but gets the job done, especially when stacked.
Credit Drop Up
CrdDrop+
Increases credits acquired by 25%
Farming skill. Stack it up on support weapons and get rich. Or die trying.

Knockdown
Knockdown+
Increases chance to knock enemies down
Much worse than Freeze/Burn/Shock since enemies recover way too quickly and proc-chance still not that good.
Ultimate Cost Down
UltCost-
Decreases the cost of ultimate attacks by 10%
Percentage is really slim for it to be useful, maybe worth it in some UA-builds on support weapons.
Acceleration Up
AltSpd+
Accelerate faster in vehicle mode
Only for better mobility in campaign, that's it.
Rare Weapon Drop Up
RareDrop+
Increases frequency of rare weapon drops by 10%
Farming skill. Unfortunately only 10% so it's better to use corresponding T.E.C.H skill when farming rare weapons.
Recoil Down
Recoil-
Suppresses recoil when firing
Useful only on certain ranged weapons.

Ultimate Recovery Up
UltRec+
Increases the recovery rate of the Ultimate Gauge by 10%
Not good, use the corresponding T.E.C.H skill instead.
Focus Duration Up
FocTime+
Increases the length Focus lasts
Slightly increases Focus duration, not really useful and doesn't seem to stack.
Weapon Drop Up
WpnDrop+
Increases frequency of weapon drops by 10%
Only a mere 10% for your inventory to be filled with junk. No, thanks.
Combo Finish Up
Finish+
Increases damage of the last hit in a combo by 20%
Only last hit in a combo, that's it, not even a vehicle attack. Considering that most enemies will just parry you 24/7 on higher difficulties it's not really a good choice.
Robot Speed Up
RobotSpd+
Increases movement speed in robot mode
Doesn't affect attack speed at all so it's practically useless.
Health Recovery Up
HPRec+
Increases amount of health recovered by 10%
Efficiency is way to low for it to take a whole skill slot, don't bother.
Energy Recovery Up
ENRec+
Increases amount of energy recovered by 10%
See Health Recovery Up.
Item Pull
ItemPull
Pulls nearby items towards character
Skill slot used. And abused.
Defect
Defect
Decreases attack power by 100%
Stack six of those into your weapon and go farm Prime mode. Not for the faint of heart.

When you have 4 weapons with you, are the skills always active or only if you are using a weapon?
Nayriek 18 Jul, 2024 @ 9:58am
im asuming ultimate is the attack in the top left corner, it used to take forever to fill, i took it off (i was using that tech because it was paired with a max dodge) and im already half way to full ult so i think i know the answer
Nayriek 18 Jul, 2024 @ 9:52am
i have a tech that gives ultimate rec -40%, does that mean it takes ultimate longer to refill if i use it?
Joeyjoejoejoejoe 9 Jul, 2024 @ 10:29am
Dead game but I prob would have put auto-recover way higher since with the game has second chance mechanic where you survive the first would be fatal hit with 1 HP, then regen simply starting for a little amount of health puts you back to needing at least 2 hits to die.
That's a lot more potential sustain then the HP increase in A tier considering by later difficulties the bit more HP is near irrelevent while being able to scam second chance for survivability is exploitable as long as you avoid combos which you usually can.
Ri3lle 19 Aug, 2022 @ 11:30am
What are the restrictions you mentioned on weapon skills combining? I'm very puzzled as to why sometimes they level and sometimes they don't.

I can't quite tell you which weapon is the absolute best in each respective category since thoughtful customizing can make any weapon a monster, so I advice you to experiment.
Headshot is most definitely better than raw attack damage when weapon has a high damage value initially, but it's on par with crit, I'd stack both while adding Rate of FIre.
Babouche 24 May, 2020 @ 10:31pm
Ok so I have a few questions, I'm trying to make all of my characters as overpowered as they can be.
1. What are the highest damage fists? Right now I'm using Bumblebee's gloves.
2. What are the highest damage twin blasters? Right now I'm using Bumblebee's blasters.
2. Since the wrenches are so powerful, should I try specializing Wheeljack in melee damage? (he's specialized in ranged right now)
3. What is the highest DPS ranged weapon? Right now I'm using Magna shot (on Wheeljack)
4. Is the headshot skill better on ranged weapons than damage or crit? (I'm using a machine gun)
I'd highly appreciate it if even only one of these questions is answered.
