Introduction
There's not a lot of info about this game that's easily available and I struggled with how to unlock some of these. I decided to create this guide with what I've learned so that you don't have to spend time searching the Internet for answers like I did. I've broken them down and grouped them by icon and labeled the sections as best as I could.

Use the search function of your browser to quickly find any achievement you're curious about or scan the whole guide. It's difficult to spoil this game but if you want certain achievements to remain a mystery you probably shouldn't be here.

Also note that for some bizarre reason, all achievements that track a specific number are PER CORPORATION. This means that if you've accumulated 6 of the 10 assignments from Nic under Joe Snuffy Corporation and then switch to another you'd need to accumulate 10 completed assignments from Nic to unlock that particular achievement. Load up Joe Snuffy again and you'll still need 4 more to complete the achievement so keep that in mind. Once you've completed an achievement it is unlocked for all corporations.

You can see the progress of your achievements by entering the corporation menu located in the upper-right corner of the screen (signified by your corporation icon). Click the Achievements tab and you can click through the various pages to see achievement progress. Note that some are not tracked with a progress bar.

Also, be aware that we can exploit the above ridiculousness for the vote achievements. Check that section of the guide for more information.
Story

High-Wire Act
Complete Phase 1 of the Lunar Licensing Program.

The Second Wave
Complete Phase 2 of the Lunar Licensing Program.

Unlimited Energy
Complete Phase 3 of the Lunar Licensing Program.

You'll unlock these as you progress through the game naturally.

Dam Right!
Complete the sector project in Walbruck Basin.

Carved In Concrete
Complete the sector project in Viridian Coves.

To Trace an Ark
Complete the sector project in Cape Ambar.

Change Gonna Come
Complete the sector project at in Akia Floes.

A New Path
Complete the sector project in Kinngait Protectorate.

Striking Oil
Complete the sector project in Ikkuma Glacier.

Enjoy Your Stay!
Complete the sector project in Mare Relictum.

A Safe Place
Complete the sector project in Novikov Crater.

Meteoric Rise
Complete the sector project in Iwamoto Crater.

Project Manager
Complete the sector projects in all sectors of the basic game.

As you unlock new sectors you'll be presented with a unique project. Complete the three tiers of each project to earn their respective achievements. None of them are particularly difficult especially on Easy. As you start stockpiling commodities the "fetch quests" will become trivial to manage. Also note that if you've got a lot of positive income coming in you could always use the world market to supply a sector temporarily until you've pulled the required goods out of the spaceport then cancel the transfer route.

If you're stuck on a particular section due to missing resources or what-have-you, work on another sector until you can come back and complete it later. There are no time limits for any of the requests other than the "wait for X minutes" where you have to maintain some level for a certain amount of time.

A Matter For The Boss
Complete 10 optional Assignments.

A Company of Good Record
Complete 100 optional Assignments.

Nope
Abort 100 optional Assignments.

These will come naturally as you work toward those listed below. I had 100 optional assignments completed well before I'd unlocked all of the character-specific achievements.

For the "Nope" achievement, I believe that you have to actually accept the assignment and then click the "Abort" button that's listed in the quest window. Don't worry about aborting missions until after you've completed "A Company of Good Record." As you start knocking out the character-specific ones listed below you can abort those ones in order to make room for those you're missing. Once you've finished "Nope" feel free to just dismiss assignments you don't want to do while working on the ones you need.

Emergency Aid
Complete 10 optional Assignments in events.

You'd think that this achievement would be included in the Military section... These are the assignments that you see in Conflict Zones. You should be doing these anyway since they're usually really simple and they give extra resources and experience.

Courier of the Year
Complete 10 distribution Assignments.

Bodyguard
Complete 10 escorting Assignments.

These are specific assignment achievements. Escort missions require you to pick up a ship and drag it back to the assignment-giver while avoiding combat ships that make for your current position. Distribution missions require that you pick up some MacGuffin in the middle of rotating scanner blips and then take them to scattered drop-off points around the map. An example of what they look like is shown below.

Good Fellows
Complete 10 Assignments for Nic Papadakis.

Research Assistant
Complete 10 Assignments for Dr. Eleanor Hofwegen.

Preferential Relations
Complete 10 Assignments for Aidan Bhargava.

Amicus Ex Machina
Complete 10 Assignments for Luca Volodin.

On the Lookout
Complete 10 Assignments for May Tian.

Power Broker
Complete 10 Assignments for Emem Buhari.

Don't Expect A Smile
Complete 10 Assignments for John Rafferty.

Agent of Unknown Powers
Complete 10 Assignments for the Mysterious Woman.

Don't Expect Thanks
Complete 10 Assignments for Dr. Howard Young.

Outsider Appeal
Complete 10 Assignments for Ville Jorgensen.

Counter Revolutionist
Complete 10 Assignments for Zandra Haynes.

Mingling Manager
Foil 10 of Virgil Drake's plans.

The Big Five can show up in any sector but it seems to me that they will not appear in all sectors. If you're not seeing a particular one of the Big Five select another biome (Arctic, Temperate, Lunar) and see if they show up. The traders (Nic, Ville, Zandra) only show up in their respective biomes as well as Howard Young who only shows up in Arctic. Virgil Drake can show up in any sector as far as I'm aware but he's definitely less frequent than the others.

As you knock out these achievements you'll spend a lot of time waiting for the ones you're missing to show up. You should be working on the sector projects while doing so since many of those project missions have time requirements.
Story - Continued

Voices from the Past
Complete the sector project in Wildwater Bay.

This map was part of a free DLC and as far as I'm aware is not required in order to receive the "Project Manager" achievement listed above. That said, it works the same way as the rest of the sector project achievements and you know you're going to do it anyway.

No Pressure
Complete the Lunar Licensing Program on Veteran difficulty in under 10 hours according to the corporation playtime.

Woo Boy. This is a tough one, maybe the toughest in the game. You're going to want to save this one for near the end and you'll probably want to do some save scumming too. I'd suggest disabling Cloud Saves in Uplay and backing up your own saves periodically. Assuming you've installed Uplay to the C: drive, the folder location should be something like:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<some long alphanumeric string>\2052

Just copy the whole folder to someplace safe. If you need to roll back, exit the game, delete the original folder and copy the backup back to the original location. Load up the game and you should be able to pick up at whatever earlier point you saved at. You did disable Cloud Saving, right?

Also note that you can force a corporation to save by going to the "Manage Corporation" section in the Main Menu and selecting another corporation and loading it. I'll go into more detail about using multiple corporations to your advantage in the Miscellaneous section below.

Not On My Watch!
Complete any Calamity Counter Measure.

Subdue the Earth
Complete 10 Calamity Counter Measures.

You'll complete these naturally assuming that you have enabled Calamities during difficulty selection. Note that you must turn Calamities on in the Advanced section of difficulty selection if you are playing on Easy!

Flood Control
Complete 5 Climate Warfare Counter Measures.

Updating Firewall
Complete 5 Hacker Attack Counter Measures.

Urban Gardening
Complete 5 Smog Counter Measures.

Cosmic Radiation
Complete 5 Solar Flare Counter Measures.

Polar Survivor
Complete 5 Polar Night Counter Measures.

"Polar Survivor" and (I think) "Climate Warfare" are Arctic-only biome-related Calamities. "Cosmic Radiation" is Lunar specific and "Urban Gardening" is Temperate. I've seen "Updating Firewall" pop up in both Temperate and Lunar sectors. If you're like me and you concentrate on Temperate and Lunar over Arctic you'll likely see some of these more often than others.
Trade

Business Friends
Trade with Nic Papadakis.

New Markets
Trade with Ville Jorgensen.

While Stocks Last
Trade with Zandra Haynes.

Expense Is No Object
Spend 1,000,000 credits with traders.

Pretty self-explanatory. Trade once with each of the biome-specific traders and buy a million credits worth of goods during gameplay.

Delivered On-Site
Create a Transfer Route between temperate sectors.

Interpolar Express
Create a Transfer Route from or to an Arctic sector.

Hauling At The Moon
Create a Transfer Route from or to a lunar sector.

You're pretty much guaranteed to get these during normal gameplay though "Delivered On-Site" won't be available until you purchase your second Temperate sector.

Always On Schedule
Run 25 Transfer Routes.

As you expand to more sectors you'll likely create at least this many transfer routes during the game.

World Export Champion
Have at least one incoming and one outgoing route in every sector of the basic game.

Anything But the Kitchen Sink
Run 30 Trade Routes from a single sector.

"World Export Champion" is likely to occur during normal gameplay. You can either back up your save game and do "Anything But the Kitchen Sink" by creating the routes sending a single unit of some commodity to another sector 30 times and then restore the saved game or just create the routes and then delete them when you're done. I ended up having 20+ routes from my Tundra sector so if you're a heavy Aerogel/Biocatalyst user like me it's possible to do this one legitimately.

Brain Drain
Create 5 routes for Neuro Implants.

Both Protectors (Arctic) and Operators (Temperate) need Neuro Implants so an easy way to complete this is to designate one Arctic sector as the producer for this commodity and then create transfer routes to the others that need it.

Energy Turnaround
Set up an energy Transfer Route.

You will complete this one during the course of the story missions.

Global Player
Trade with the World Market.

This one was really confusing to me when I first started playing. In order to trade with the World Market you need to select the dude in the lower-right corner as either the Source or Target sector. Below is a picture of me creating a transfer route to the World Market.

Sales Oriented
Gain a credit balance of 1,000 from a single world market route.

Rainmaker
Gain a credit balance of 10,000 from all your world market routes.

The wording is kind of weird but what these two mean is that you need to create transfer routes to the World Market that gain you credit income in excess of 1,000/10,000. Easy to do when you're farther in the game and have good production chains and 10+ World Market routes. Remember, it can be a combination of routes so produce some multiple expensive products (verify with the World Market by checking the current prices) and assign them all at once.

Below Value
Spend a credit balance of 1,000 on a single world market route.

Wildcatter
Spend a credit balance of 10,000 over all your world market routes.

Again, weird wording. You need to create a transfer route from the World Market to one of your sectors that costs more than 1,000/10,000 credits. Can both be easily done with one transfer route, just make sure you can afford the temporary 10k credit deduction from your income.

Orders Are Orders
Transfer oxygen from the Moon to a temperate sector.

Save the Arctic, Send Ice
Transfer ice from the Moon to an arctic sector.

Novelty achievements. Just create a temporary transfer route from from a Lunar sector to either Arctic or Temperate sectors and send one unit of oxygen/ice. When the achievement pops cancel the route.
Military

Naval Power
Have a fleet with the maximum number of ships.

The eighth ship is unlocked when you hit corporation level 14. Simply build more residences across all sectors to increase your corporation level.

Diving Expedition
Lose 10 ships.

Terror of the Seas
Destroy 100 enemy vehicles.

Neptune's Wrath
Destroy 1,000 enemy vehicles.

These will happen during normal gameplay though if they don't just join a Crisis Sector and die or kill ships respectively. I'm unsure if Invasions from the Frontiers DLC count for these but I assume so.

Under Arms
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Temperate region on standard difficulty.

Battlewise
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Temperate region on advanced difficulty.

Bemedalled
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Temperate region on expert difficulty.

Winter Soldier
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Arctic region on standard difficulty.

Cold Blood
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Arctic region on advanced difficulty.

No White Flags
Complete an Crisis Sector in the Arctic region on expert difficulty.

War Hero
Clear all basic Crisis Sectors on all difficulty levels.

Likely you'll do all of the above except "War Hero" through normal gameplay. There are two Crisis Sectors per biome, annotated below as (A)rctic or (T)emperate. I recommend creating a table of your own and then checking each difficulty box as you complete them.

Crisis Sector
Standard
Advanced
Expert
(T) Tymamere Hideout
(T) Prycamber Barricade
(A) Qannitaq Conflict Zone
(A) Tonrar Defense Line

You'll need to complete all Crisis Sectors on every difficulty for a total of 12 runs in order to complete "War Hero." Since you're likely also going for "High-end Technology" and "Scientific Victory" you'll probably beat each Crisis Sector on most difficulties anyway.

Full Service
Clear a Crisis Sector with all optional Assignments.

Drake's Revenge
Lose a Crisis Sector.

Brute Force
Clear a Crisis Sector without using special actions.

Should be self-explanatory and likely to happen during normal gameplay. "Full Service" and "Brute Force" are easier to complete on Easy game difficulty and Standard Crisis Sector difficulty. "Drake's Revenge" is probably going to happen when you're playing on Veteran.

Demolition
Destroy all rare material storages in a crisis sector after unlocking Magnetite.

Best done on Easy difficulty after you've completed a majority of the story missions. I'm not sure exactly when Magnetite unlocks, I'm thinking sometime during the Lunar section of the story. After you've levelled some of your ships pick a Standard difficulty scenario and just destroy everything on the map.

This achievement will pop while you're in the map so don't leave until you get it. Note that you can complete the main objective and then go back into the sector to finish up. See the picture below for a couple examples of what the storage buildings look like.

Titanic
Lose all eight ships in a crisis sector.

You can force it but chances are you're going to get this one on Veteran difficulty anyway.
Corporation

Ring the Till
Have a credit balance of +1,000.

Chief Economist
Have a credit balance of +10,000.

My First Million
Attain a credit balance of +1,000,000.

I did these on my second Easy corporation. The Orbit DLC and Industry Modes unlocked by industry dominance in the Stock Market make these kinda trivial.

Closing the Circuit
Produce +1,000 energy in a single sector.

You're going to do this in the first Lunar sector for sure but it's possible you'll complete it earlier.

In Machina
Produce Androids.

Quantum Leap
Produce Quantum Computers.

Walk Like a Lunarian
Produce Gravity Fields.

Earl Grey, Hot
Produce Replicators.

You'll do these in the course of the game when you've unlocked Investors and are trying to keep them happy. Androids and Replicators are created in Temperate sectors, Quantum Computers in Arctic, and Anti-Grav Compensators in Lunar.

Thirst Quencher
Produce 250 Water in a sector.

I believe this takes approximately 10-12 Desalination Plants. I ended up doing it on a freshly-unlocked Temperate sector and then deleting some of the plants after I got the achievement. You might be able to create a World Market transfer route to a sector for 250 water but I didn't try that. Note that the Plants have to be active and working so you'll need to connect them via roads and build extra warehouses to expand logistic supply.

This Is... Luna!
Have a workforce of 300 on the Moon.

You'll get this one during normal gameplay.

Entertainment Pioneers
Choose a special corporation name.

Biotech Pioneers
Choose a special corporation name.

A.I. Pioneers
Choose a special corporation name.

There Will Be Cake
Choose a special corporation name.

Copycat
Choose a special corporation name.

The preceding achievements are completed by going into the corporation menu (upper-right corner, click your icon) and choosing to Edit your corporation. Type these names in and (assuming they are spelled correctly) they'll unlock immediately.

Abstergo
Umbrella
Cyberdyne
Aperture Science
Lei Sheng (though any of the other Big Five will work)

The Old School
Reach a population of 2,000,000 on Veteran difficulty.

Assuming you're doing the Veteran achievements and you're going for "Evolutionary Leap" from the Frontiers DLC you'll get this one naturally. Note that Synthetics count as population so don't worry about having 2 million human population all at once. Full happiness Synth buildings house 5000 population apiece so don't ignore them though note that they generate no income.

Investment Banker
Buy one share of any corporation.

Cross-Shareholder
Buy one share of each corporation.

The One Percent
Buy all shares of all Big Five corporations and leave no sectors controlled by them.

You're going to want to buy all the shares from all Big Five corporations once you open up the Stock Market anyway so these will come naturally. Buying out a competitor prevents them from bidding on stocks so the sooner you're able to lock them out the easier it is for you.

Concentrate on buying all your shares first to increase your influence gain and make sure to keep at least 30-35 influence on hand in case you need to stop one of your shares being auctioned.

Note the picture to the left. The light tinted ones are owned by a corporation other than yourself and the darker ones are considered open shares. Though the owned shares are more pricey, the sooner you buy them out the sooner you block that company from starting share buys or bidding altogether. Once you've locked them all out you can pick up the rest of the shares at your leisure and for pennies because no one is able to bid against you.

The other benefit of buying shares is unlocking industry dominance modules which allow you to place Big Five specific modules (which are better) instead of the generic ones you usually get. Once you've achieved dominance on a specific industry, don't forget to go back and replace any of the standard ones you've placed already.

When industry dominance is unlocked you will then have the option of selecting any of those Industry Modes for any new corporation you may create, which comes in handy for Veteran runs.

Fully Automated
Have a credit balance of +10,000 without any employees.

This is probably easier with a fresh corporation and Industry Modes unlocked and available though you can do it with any corporation you like. Basically, delete everything except some warehouses and industry buildings with drone modules. You cannot have any employees so use the employee filter in the sector selection screen to make sure you didn't miss any. If your industry is robust (and it would be with Industry Modes and a 1200 science Orbital station assuming you have that DLC) you should be able to keep the 10k balance needed to unlock this achievement.
Construction

Whiteout
Found an arctic settlement.

Wave Rider
Found a lunar settlement.

Creating Space
Claim a second construction area in any sector.

Expansionist
Claim 34 construction areas.

Chief Optimizer
Construct 100 Maintenance Modules in a single sector.

Cornucopian
Construct 1,000 modules.

Looks Better There
Move 100 buildings.

Gentrification
Demolish 100 buildings.

Bridge Day
Finish a bridge construction project.

Monumental
Construct corporation headquarters.

All of the preceding are likely to come during normal gameplay. "Cornucopian" requires at least 200 production buildings with all modules built.

Because I Can
Expand your corporation headquarter with all different modules.

The easiest way to do this is to complete it during the last story mission. It requires you to build 5 modules but does not specify whether they should be different or not. Save yourself some time by building one of each module and get two birds with one stone.

Beautiful Mind
Construct 500 ornamentals.

You need to build one of each ornamental for "Interior Decorator" and Smog Counter Measures require a certain amount of trees to be built to complete. Oddly enough though, ornamentals do not count for "Chief Architect." Feel free to spam a bunch of trees or something to knock this out.

Silicon Valley
Construct 10 silicon mines in one sector.

Not sure why this one wasn't included with "Thirst Quencher." Same idea, though. Pick a new Temperate sector and build 12 Silicon Mines (Executive unlock). They don't even have to be operational, just build them, wait for the achievement to pop and then delete them. Be sure to create a couple temporary transfer routes to the sector with the necessary commodities first; Superalloys, Biopolymer, and Construct-o-Bots.

Eye-Hand Coordination
Demolish 30 buildings at once.

Changed My Mind
Spend 100,000 credits demolishing buildings.

Relocation Service
Spend 1,000,000 credits relocating buildings.

Easy enough to do, build thirty residences somewhere and then delete them at the same time. "Changed My Mind" and "Relocation Service" require that the options to charge for moving and deleting buildings be enabled. Note that move and delete are free by default on Easy and move is DISABLED on Veteran. You can re-enable it but be wary that the difficulty slider does not move below the Veteran threshold.

Eco Evangelist
Reach a population of 1,000,000 over all sectors without constructing Gas Power Stations or Fusion Reactors.

Save yourself some aggravation and do this on Easy with Industry Modes unlocked and selected. You can't build Fusion Reactors so that means you're going to be scrambling for power before the big Investor push. I didn't even attempt to build them until I had built out the orbital station with 5 Energy Clusters and had enabled the last tech, Kinetic Micro-Generators. That makes it so that your employees generate power. I'm sure it can be done without the orbital station but why bother?

Update June 2017:
Drecksnoob1337 reports in the comments below that you can just get your population up to a million the normal way then demolish all the Fusion Reactors and Gas Power Stations. Makes this achievement pretty easy.

Narcissist
Construct the Veteran Statue.

You get the Veteran Statue by having one million Investors on Veteran difficulty. While working on "Heir of the ANNOkrat," "The Old School," and "Evolutionary Leap" you'll likely have at least a million Investors at once.

Interior Decorator
Construct each ornamental building at least once.

Okay, so this one can be a bit tricky. There is one ornamental you need to unlock with a Veteran save that you receive upon completing the "Narcissist" achievement. A couple are unlocked via Uplay rewards and as such you must have enough points to unlock them. I'm not sure how much they are but I believe they are 20-30 points each so anywhere between 40-60 points total. Below is a collage of all the ornamentals required to unlock this achievement. Note that the holiday items (Maypole, Christmas Tree) are not required.

Most of these you'll have available either immediately or through unlocking buildings during gameplay. I've highlighted the ones that I know for sure require special action on your part with the exception of group 5. I know those three come with Frontiers but I don't know which ones were unlocked via Synthetic thresholds and which were available through other means.

1 & 2 are unlocked via Sector Projects, be sure that you build these after receiving them. 3 are the Uplay rewards, you'll need to unlock "Leisure Time" and "Firewater." 4 is the Veteran's Statue that you unlock with "Narcissist" and 5 are the other three that come with Frontiers.

As near as I can tell unlocking an ornamental with one corporation carries over to all other ones with the exception of the Sector Project unlocks. That being said, you must build all of them at least once on one corporation exclusively so I wouldn't worry too much about this until you have them all except group 1 & 2. Use a corporation to finish those Sector Projects if you haven't already and then place one of each with the rest.

Multinational Company
Claim an area in every sector.

You'll need to buy all 9 of the original sectors and claim a warehouse in each map. I'm not sure if Wildwater Bay counts or not so if the achievement doesn't pop, buy and claim that one too.

Chief Architect
Construct 10,000 buildings.

You must have 10k building across all sectors at once. Ornamentals do not count. Honestly this one is kinda dumb so I just save scummed it. I backed up my save game and then tore down everything in Wildwater Bay. I then built rows upon rows of single residences until the achievement popped then quit and restored my previous saves.

You can find instructions for how to back up and restore save games by checking out the achievement "No Pressure" up above.

Special Actions

High-end Technology
Reach (Reach "Master" level for any ship.)

Scientific Victory
Reach (Reach "Master" level for all ships.)

There's an error with how these are displayed in Steam. "High-end Technology" is unlocked by getting a single ship to Master (three bars) and "Scientific Victory" is done by getting all eight ships to Master. You can obtain that by getting to military level 26 but you might as well keep going to 30 to max out the percentage in your corporation tracker.

Know Your Tools
Use 100 special actions.

Back to the Stone Age
Use the Tactical Nuke 50 times.

Medic!
Use the Repair Drones 50 times.

I'm Rubber, You're Glue
Use the Kinetic Shield 50 times.

Get Off Me!
Use the Wave Mine 50 times.

Stunning Presence
Use the E.M.-Pulse 50 times.

Me and THAT Army
Use the Support Fleet 50 times.

You'll get "Know Your Tools" while working on the rest of these. Right before you complete a mission (or go back in after completing it) use up all your fuel on special actions. It'll take a while but you'll knock these out eventually. I ended up spreading these achievements out over several corporations while working on other stuff but remember that the counts are unique to each corp, not total.

Miscellaneous

Online
Settle Operators in one of your cities.

Make It So
Settle Executives in one of your cities.

The Upper Crust
Settle Investors in one of your cities.

Housing Hypothesis
Settle Scientists in one of your cities.

Acknowledged
Settle Officers in one of your cities.

You'll get all of these through the course of normal gameplay.

Legacy
Reach a population of 1.000.000 over all sectors.

Heir of the ANNOkrat
Reach a population of 1.000.000 over all sectors in hard mode.

On your way to the other Veteran achievements, "The Old School" and "Evolutionary Leap" you'll get this achievement. If you haven't already unlocked "Legacy" with another corporation you'll get that one too.

Top of the World
Reach the first place in the corporation ranking.

Shrinking the Big Five
Reach the first place in the corporation ranking in hard mode.

You'll likely get this in the course of pursuing the Veteran achievements because the Stock Market is awesome and you want every advantage you can get, right? If you didn't already get "Top of the World" with a non-Veteran corporation you get that one as well.

Asteroid Riches
Connect Anno 2205 with "ANNO 2205 - Asteroid Miner".

Annoying because it doesn't require the actual game to achieve. Download the app from either the App Store or Google Play on any applicable Apple/Android device and run it. You'll need to complete the first couple levels until you unlock the space station. Go to the "Logistic" section and there will be a "Connect" button for your Uplay account. Sign in and the achievement should unlock the next time the game loads or immediately if the game is currently running when you do it.

Anno Day
Play on the 22nd of May.

You can either wait until the 22nd of May or just adjust your computer clock foward to that date, launch the game, load your corp and the achievement will pop. Note that you'll need to be signed in to Uplay before changing your system clock otherwise the game won't start.

Democracy, Ho!
Vote for the first time.

Council Matters
Vote 10 times.

Scientific Consultant
Vote 10 times for Dr. Eleanor Hofwegen.

Power Struggles
Vote 10 times for Aidan Bhargava.

The Establishment
Vote 10 times for Luca Volodin.

The Spy Who Loved Her
Vote 10 times for May Tian.

Feed the World
Vote 10 times for Emem Buhari.

Part of the System
Take bribes 20 times.

Incorruptible
Refuse bribes 20 times.

Yeah. You have to vote at a minimum 50 times which is approximately 7 months though likely longer because of the bribe/no bribe x20 achievements. Super annoying. Luckily, we can take advantage of Ubisoft's stupid system of tracking achievements separately as detailed below.

If you read the Introduction way up top you may remember I mentioned that any achievement that increments is stored separately per corporation and that includes votes. By creating several corporations whose only purpose is to vote we can knock them out in a fraction of the time required instead of when we're all old and in our deathbeds.

It takes about 30-45 minutes to get a corporation to level 5 which is the minimum requirement in order to participate in voting. Name your dummy corporations after the person or corporation they are supposed to vote for and every four days cycle through them and vote. After 10 votes the achievements should be unlocked for the individual votes along with "Democracy, Ho!" and "Council Matters." Check each of your corporation's achievement page and whichever ones have the highest count for both bribes and non-bribes you keep and continue to use them to vote until you've completed both "Part of the System" and "Incorruptible."

Now that you've got your dummy corporations set up, you can use the same trick mentioned for "Anno Day" to unlock these even quicker. Make sure you're signed in to Uplay first, then adjust your computer clock to something like one month foward. Start the game, when it gets to the main menu quit. Change your system clock back to the correct date and then relaunch. You'll be able to vote again. Quit the game and repeat. Do this until you unlock these achievements or you get bored.
DLC - Tundra

Preservation Society
Complete the sector project in Vanha Plains.

Quiet Work Environment
Settle Tundra Scientists in one of your cities.

I lost my glasses down there
Drain a swamp.

I. Drink. Your. Smoothie.
Drain all swamps in Vanha Plains.

You'll unlock these others as you pursue "Preservation Society." I think you can finish the Sector Project without draining all the swamps but you might as well since you'll be spending a lot of time here.

Hedgehopper
Complete 10 Assignments for your Vanha Plains employees.

You should prioritize any employee assignments in Vanha Plains as this is the only sector you can do them on and it's also the only employee assignment related achievement in the game. Otherwise you'll be like me sitting there with something heavy on the Speed Up key waiting desperately for an employee boat to show up.

What's That Smell?
Construct 10 Musk-ox Ranches in Vanha Plains.

Eden's End
Construct 10 Drilling Rigs in Vanha Plains.

It's likely that you'll complete both of these if you're utilizing the Tundra (and you should) on Veteran. If not, just build enough of them somewhere to pop the achievement and then delete the excess. Neither production building has to be connected to a road for it to count.

It's a Kind of Magic
Produce Biocatalysts and Aerogel.

Globalization... Complete
Run 10 transfer routes out of Vanha Plains.

Industrial Adulteration
Construct a Tundra Module in every region.

Easy enough, you'll likely create at least 10 routes out of the Tundra as you export Biocatalysts and Aerogel to various sectors because they're awesome. "Industrial Adulteration" can actually be completed as early as phase 2 of the Sector Project. Once you have the ability to build the Agricultural Biocatalyst Funnel do so at any agricultural building in each of the three biomes.
DLC - Orbit

Annonaut
Construct at least one of each Training Center.

Jack of all Trades
Construct all Orbital Workshop types at least once.

You'll do both of these naturally as you pursue the rest of the Orbit achievements.

Key to Life
Construct 5 Agriculture Chambers.

Future of Humankind
Construct 5 Biotech Complexes.

Digital Veins
Construct 5 Electronics Cleanrooms.

Fuelling Civilisations
Construct 5 Energy Clusters.

Matter of the Universe
Construct 5 Heavy Industry Halls.

Complete Assembly
Construct 12 Orbital Workshops of any type.

You'll also do these as you work on the other Orbit achievements. The Agriculture Chamber is unlocked by building a Biology Institute in a Temperate sector and shooting some astronauts up into space. You unlock the Biotech and Electronics modules by building a Physics Institute in the Tundra or Arctic sectors. Heavy Industry and Energy are unlocked by building Engineering Institutes in Lunar sectors.

Reassembly
Move your Orbital Workshops or Modules 100 times.

Deorbiting
Demolish at least 20 Orbital Workshops or Modules at once.

You're likely to get these as you fiddle around with the orbital station.

Space Botanists
Train 100 Biologists for the same shuttle flight.

Astrophysicists
Train 100 Physicists for the same shuttle flight.

Duct Tape Experts
Train 100 Engineers for the same shuttle flight.

Each institute can send a maximum of 25 astronauts each shuttle mission so you'll need a minimum of 4 institutes per biome. Personally, I didn't build any institutes in the Arctic at all, instead relying on the Tundra sector to send all my Physicists.

The easiest way to ensure maximum capacity is to cluster your residence upgrades in the vicinity of each institute, being careful not to overlap the institute coverage areas if you're able. The more higher density residences in the radius the better. You can select the institute by clicking on it and it'll show a percentage of how well staffed the building is. 100% is best obviously.

First Flight
Gain an Expertise balance of 100.

Permanent Crew
Gain an Expertise balance of 600.

Station Commander
Gain an Expertise balance of 1200.

You'll be able to gain 100 Expertise easily and by the time you've unlocked all the modules you'll likely have 600 as well. There are solutions available on the internet for building stations for 1200 Expertise and I will upload a sample of my own at a later date. Keep in mind that it is counting SPARE Expertise, not SPENT Expertise. You may need to remove some technologies from the Nexus to trigger the 600 and 1200 thresholds for those achievements.

Also note that while the orbital station may look like it needs commodities shipped to it, those are optional. You may want to consider creating transfer routes if you're working on "Station Commander" and are close to 1200. Each module will accept two unique commodities and will boost expertise production up to 100% per item.

Extraterrestrial Brain
Apply a Technology.

Agricultural Frontrunner
Apply all Agriculture Technologies.

Cyborg Developer
Apply all Biotech Technologies.

Weightless Industry
Apply all Heavy Industry Technologies.

Electronics Revolutionary
Apply all Electronics Technologies.

Energy Optimizer
Apply all Energy Technologies.

Station Pressurized
Produce all Station Expansions.

As you work on other Orbit achievements keep these in mind. You'll need at least 560 Expertise to apply each industry technology along with having 5 of each module built in the orbital station. Also note the connecting technologies between industry sections. Each tier will unlock more station kits or shield radius but require a certain amount of time to pass before they are available.

The Micromanager From Above
Apply the Orbital Warehouses and the Control System Overclocking Technologies.

You'll need 5 Heavy Industry and 5 Electronic modules built and enough Expertise to all the way up to tier 5 which is 520 minimum.

Human Batteries
Apply the Robotic Workforce and the Kinetic Micro-Generator Technologies.

Same deal as above except you'll need 5 Biotech and 5 Energy modules and at least 520 Expertise.

Portfolio Diversification
Apply one Technology in every industry.

Unchained
Apply all product replacement Technologies.

Among Friends
Apply all Joint Ventures Technologies.

"Portfolio Diversification" easy enough, build one module of each industry and make a minimum of 50 Expertise then unlock each first tier technology per industry. "Unchained" and "Among Friends" are a little more difficult, you need two of each module (10 total) built and a minimum of 150 Expertise available.

Select each industry tier one technologies and the one immediately above it that has two arrow crossing paths for "Unchained." Deselect those and then select the ones to the upper-left of the tier 1 techs, they have the icons of the Big Five. Once that's done you'll get "Among Friends."
DLC - Frontiers

Dirty Deeds
Complete the Sector Project in Madrigal Islands.

They Live
Complete the Sector Project in Greentide Archipelago.

Fires Below
Drill out a geyser in Savik Province.

Steampowered
Drill out all geyers in Savik Province.

Ghost in the Machine
Gain Synthetics employees.

Settling on the Edge
Settle in all three "Frontiers" sectors.

You'll need to complete "Dirty Deeds" on Veteran in order to work on "Evolutionary Leap" listed below. The others are typical and you'd unlock these through the course of normal gameplay.

Evolutionary Leap
Have 4,000,000 Synthetics on Veteran difficulty

This one is the big daddy. You need at least 800 fully satisfied Synthetic habitats to meet the 4 million threshold. This is something that you don't try until you're very familiar with the game first. You can do all the other Veteran achievements on the same run because you're going to have to do all those things in order to get this one. The exception to that being "No Pressure" though you're certainly welcome to try. Choose your options in the advanced difficulty section very carefully and know that you can turn some features down or off and still be in Veteran.

When you finally unlock Synthetics, make sure you're ready to upgrade. I ended up concentrating most of my Synth population in Wildwater Bay and Viridian Cove. When I was down to around a couple hundred upgrades left I just spammed all the rest of my Temperate sectors with Investors -> Synths until I hit the achievement. Before that I would do upgrades in waves.

You need to make sure that your economy will sustain you when you start upgrading to Syths because you're going to lose a bunch of employee income. Subsidize this by trading with the world market and adjusting your production chains accordingly. Synths do not need any public service buildings so you can actually start deleting those to recover the maintenance costs and spaces for more residences. That means more eventual Synth upgrades.

Finally, be sure to capitalize on the Trading Floor. Building those are important for allowing more more residence upgrades then the allowable build area would typically permit. Surround the Trading Floors with your densest residences (Executive & up) in order to cap out the Trading Floor bonuses.

I also periodically backed up my save game in case I had to revert. I have described the process in the "No Pressure" achievement section.

Get off my Lawn!
Defeat your first invasion.

We Shall Fight on the Beaches
Defeat every type of Invasion once.

Counter-Terrorists Win!
Defeat 10 Invasions on Veteran difficulty.

Eradicate THIS
Defeat 10 Eradicators during Invasions.

Invasions must be manually turned on if playing on a setting lower than Veteran/Hard. These are pretty self-explanatory except for "We Shall Fight on the Beaches." I honestly have no idea how this is tracked and only saw it pop up after I had completed maybe 10 or so Invasions. Note that Eradicators are the large ships denoted as a skull on your minimap, the same big ships from the Crisis Sectors.

The Hague Called
Use any destructive special action on one of your cities.

This one is a little confusing. You need to move a ship from your fleet close to one of your buildings and use something like Tactical Nuke or EMP on them. There will be no visible reaction and after the animation for the special action has completed the achievement will pop.

Dominium Terrae
Use Geoengineering 50 times with one corporation.

This one is also confusing and I couldn't figure out what this was until I happened to be poking around in the menu bar and stumbled upon it. There is an icon near the lower-left corner (to the left of where the minimap is) next to the icons for sector traits. Click that and you'll see the option to change those traits for a nominal fee. Click that 50 times. Note that the picture below was taken from a Lunar sector, the prices in Temperate are much cheaper.

Margin Call
Have 13 active world market routes.

You unlock three additional World Market routes when you complete the Greentide Archipelago Sector Project. Once completed, simply create 13 total transfer routes with the World Market to unlock.

Machine city
Settle an island with 101,010 Synthetics and no other employees.

You can actually do this one while going after "Evolutionary Leap" if you want. Delete all the human residences in a sector leaving a minimum of 101,010 Synthetics behind and this achievement should pop.

Island Hopper
Settle all islands in Greentide Archipelago.

Simply pilot your Command Ship around the map to each open warehouse and claim the island. You can see the ones you're missing by looking at the minimap. Blue dots are unclaimed, orange ones are yours.
Version Information & Thanks
Version 0.9 - 1/17/2017 - Initial upload, all achievements listed and mostly complete. Still need to do the DLC sections, too.

Version 0.9.1 - 1/18/2017 - Everything is nearly complete now.

Version 1.0 - 1/19/2017 - Fixed a few typos. I think the guide is complete except for some pictures of sample orbital station layouts.

Version 1.0.1 - 1/21/2017 - Added info on how to achieve "Anno Day" and updated section for all the voting achievements.

Can you complete Heir of the ANNOkrat in Veteran difficulty or does it have to specifically be hard mode?
Thibault68 20 jul, 2022 @ 14:23
Hi, as of 2022 some achievements can't be unlocked anymore because Ubisoft club rewards system changed or other deprecated features.
I created a Fanpatch mod to make them available again, along with some Quality Of Life stuff :
{LÄNK BORTTAGEN}

Locked achievements are Because I Can (Weil ich es kann), Interior Decorator (Innenausstatter), Asteroid Riches (Asteroidenschätze)

Hi, Senornacho, thank you for this useful game guide ! Would you edit it ? I'd like to mention this to the "No pressure achievement" :
You can cheese this one because the corporation timer resets when entering in the stock market. So you can do the whole campaign at your own pace and then enter in the stock market just before finishing the last quest. Still, doing the achievement the normal way offers useful experience to get other Veteran achievements.

For "Asteroid Riches" You can run an emulator (Bluestacks, Nox) and play the game there.
But I heard it was removed from Google Play Store, so you can try to find the apk on some site (apkmirror, etc) and see if it will allow you to connect. Not sure if Ubisoft supports the servers for it thou.

For "Asteroid Riches", I only have my desk top on windows. No cell phone or tablet or laptop. How do I get this.

Is hardmode the same as veteran mode?
neno_ned 22 jul, 2020 @ 9:10
First off let me say very nice guice it helped a lot.
The one that eludes me(aside from Anno day, because I don't wanna change time) is Updating Firewall. For the life of me I can't seem to get 5 of those in a single run. I completed the veteran run and all others(even the Smog ones, today) and I haven't gotten it.
Do you know what kind of actions affect it to trigger it more?

Hi, This is a real help everyone who is trying hard for achievements. I just reached 1mn+ population in veteran difficulty. Legacy was unlocked but "Heir of the ANNOkrat" was not unlocked. Could anyone indicate what else needs o done? or to be done differently? Thanks
