Have you ever wondered what happens to Science ships set to autoexplore if they jump into a system with hostiles in it?
Wonder no more!

This mod:
  1. Immediately pauses the game and puts up a warning
  2. Clears the order queue for the science ship
  3. Puts the science ship to Evasive stance, regardless of previous preference
The ship will then automatically do an evasive jump to a nearby system.

The mod only activates when science ships jump into a star system with hostiles. It does not do anything if, for example, hostile fleets enter a system your science ship is already in.
Actually, that might be the first thing I add - putting the science ship in Evasive stance if that happens, just in case.

Hint: for vanilla Stellaris 1.3, they do actually do evasive jumps if set to auto-explore, so this mod won't actually improve the chances that any of them survive.

What it will do, however, is give you a nice popup with a location button on it, and pause the game so you can check and see what's going on.

And peace of mind.

Please check out my other addons!

And many others :-)

Seems to work fine in 2.0

@thenuclearwalrus,@Dyss that is true however, in some cases walrus is correct in that it is sometimes better to survey systems yourself, as for example the tradition that gives you a bit of science everytime you survey a planet does not count if you buy a map from another empire

I'd really like this mod changed, so that the Order Queue isn't deleted.

Actually @thenuclearwalrus once a place has been scanned once, its anomaly chance has rolled already, and there won't be another roll. How would it make sense if the second time around, someone found a unique gravitational pattern or geographical anomaly? They wouldn't have missed that the first time around.
thenuclearwalrus 29. jan. 2017 kl. 15.57
Because if you buy maps you cannot get anomalies from those systems anymore. If you survey them yourself you can find anomalies and get some rewards or ships from them. Just because one person went through a system and found none doesn't mean you cant, otherwise the modifier +10% anomaly discovery chance wouldn't matter.

why would people even need to use auto explore?
i find it sad that i dont need any exploring anymore after the first 30 minutes, cause i just buy either maps from other empires....
and use my sience ships to assist my research hubs anyways lel

One way that I'd improve this mod would be to extend the behavior to all other non-combat ships, including construction ships, colony ships, and troop transports.

maby you could make a kind of ship that explores but can also defend its self?
