  • Hundreds of thousands of new (mostly fictitious, alien) names for leaders, planets, spaceships, and fleets across 275 namelists - use them in your custom species, or see AI empires using them!
  • Over 8250+ new star names, 550+ names for black holes, 400+ asteroid prefixes and suffixes, and 550+ nebula names - now you can play your 2000+ star galaxy mods without worrying about running out of names!
  • Multiplayer and ironman compatible (I don’t think it is achievement compatible however)
  • Compatible with almost any mod!
  • Better and improved human namelists with thousands of new personal names from over 60+ countries and cultures not found in vanilla’s human namelists, such as Vietnamese, Polish, and Iranian names!

CANS is my collection of namelists I use in my games for more variety.

Most of the namelists are made using random fantasy name generators and are NOT real names or words unless otherwise indicated. Feel free to use them in your mods, though credit would be appreciated.

My Other Mods

Basic Ordinary Origins: A mod that adds in several new simple, “default” Origins for player and AI to use so not everyone gets Prosperous Unification
More AI Personalities: A mod that introduces tons of new AI personalities, adding more variety to the game.
No Ethics Spawn Bias: With this mini-mod, ethics of randomly generated AI empires are more evenly weighted to appear, so there’s less of a chance you’ll be surrounded by hostile empires as in vanilla.

big recommendation to *not* use ""AI"" to generate stuff for these name lists, if you do come back. Don't give in to the slop machine!

Are there any future plans to add any more space name-lists or expand upon existing ones, with the recent advancements in AI name generation?

ah, issue found. Duplicate .mod files on the Paradox Interactive mods file, which directs to an older ver of the mod. Sorry for the trouble caused 🙇

Guess it's a good reminder for me to check that folder too, for future troubleshooting

yep, have done that and restarts for both Steam and the device. I'll try on another device if the problem still persists. Oddly enough error logs shows no mention of the mod, although it is present in the workshop file directory. Ran it with other mods, and alone, same result

@Locke_Valefor Have you tried the old trick of unsubscribing and resubscribing (multiple times if necessary) until it fixes it? Sometimes Steam Workshop/Paradox Launcher is really bad at updating mods and causes mods to not work.

For some reason the namelists do not show up on the selection tab, tried booting up with this mod only, to the same results. Version 4.0.6.

Is there a way I can help with troubleshooting this? Not too familiar with how Stellaris handles boot up logs...
