How to get Subnautica Experimental Mode
By Smuzz
Warning: Once changing to Subnautica Experimental Mode, it may include spoilers of gameplay.
Introduction
Subnautica Experimental Mode is a Mode when the player gets to test new features that are still being tested. So, basically your updates come sooner. [b1] With this mode Subnautica may crash more often or just run slowly. [/b1]
Getting Experimental Mode
1. Go to your Library and right click Subnautica.
2. Go to the very bottom and click 'Properties'.
3. Go to one of the top tabs called 'Beta' and click it.
4. Select the tab that for most people should say 'NONE- Opt out of all beta programs'. If it doesn't say that don't worry.
5. Once pressed that tab press 'Experimental-'.
6. Now the game will wish to update.
7. Now in the Library it will say 'Subnautica [experimental]'
8. Play and enjoy!

Hi Caleb7968, next to "NONE- Opt out of all beta programs" you need to click the down-arrow next to it (see the second picture in this guide). Then you will see an option for experimental mode: click this! Save the feature, then the game will update accordingly.
P.S. as the game is now fully complete, I assume experimental mode may no-longer have much advantage on-top of the regular game... (this guide is quite old!)
Hope it works out:peeperfish:
